She lives in a fairy tale
Somewhere too far for us to find
Forgotten the taste and smell
Of the world that she's left behind

It's all about the exposure the lens I told her
The angles were all wrong now
She's ripping wings off of butterflies
With a stature of 5'3", it may be obvious to some that this girl has grown over the past year. Shooting up two inches has proven that Galaxy is somewhat of a late-bloomer. Now, she's just underneath the average height for girls of her age. Perhaps she'll grow even more over the next couple of years, but not by much - the boys are starting to grow as well, and as the saying goes: Girls stop growing before boys do. The girl expects not to become much taller, but she doesn't mind. Her height isn't something that she particularly dislikes about herself. In fact, she doesn't even care one bit about it.
Increased height is sometimes followed by a slight increase in weight. This is true for the girl, who normally had been somewhat over 100 lbs. Now, the girl can state that she weighs about 115 lbs - a somewhat average weight for a girl of that height. This is not only due to her growth spurt, but because she has started to eat a tad bit more - the girl likes food, and she can afford to actually eat things. Therefore, she has no qualms about her eating habits. Of course, she is still in the lower spectrum of the healthy weight range, but for once in her life, she actually feels energized - the weight gain has given her more stamina and energy, causing her grades to improve, etc.
Galaxy's complexion has changed as well. From pale white to a lighter tan, the melanin in her skin has increased due to the fact that she's been outside more often. Her father is actually happy for once; the girl's becoming healthier and healthier each day. However, along with the tanner skin, the epidermis has become a tad bit greasier. Pimples are bound to pop up occasionally, and the girl doesn't always look her best. She doesn't really have any medication or anything, so she can't do much about her skin when the problems do arise. However, she tries to keep her face relatively clean - washing it twice a day, to hopefully prevent breakouts.
Her ears are large, but stick somewhat flat against her head. She doesn't really like her right ear. You see, it's ripped. There's a vertical cut that separates one part of her ear from the other. When she was 6, she fell down the stair, banging her head against the metal railing. Her ear had been severely cut, and at that time, the family did not have enough money to go to a doctor or surgeon. They could only stop the bleeding and disinfect it. The result was an ear which was partially cut in half vertically.
Over a period of time, her hair color has gradually started to change. Before, it was a rather orange hue. Now, the hair has become more of a mixture between orange and golden brown. It is still comparable to a coppery-like color, but it now has more brown streaks than orange. However, the healthiness of the hair has not changed. It is still thick and relatively smooth. But if it's not taken care of, Galaxy will find that her hair has become frizzy and damaged, not to mention greasy as well. Most of the time, she has enough money to actually wash her hair, so this doesn't tend to happen. But this will occur if she has spent hours upon hours studying for her finals, causing her to not wash herself at all. Her hair is normally loose, and falls in slightly wavy strands, ending just past her shoulders.
Her eyes are somewhat desaturated. They are gray eyes, but on the warmer side of the gray family. One might think that there is only one type of gray, but they would be incorrect. There are a multitude of grays, and Galaxy's eyes happen to be a brown-like gray color that looks light-brown in the sun. The gray seems to seep out of the iris when the light is there, returning when she's in shadows. It's merely a trick; her eyes are the exact same color all of the time, but it just seems to look different in a variation of environments. This does occur to everyone, but to some, it may look more noticeable. Normally, her eyes are wide open, looking at everything around her with a curious mindset. She's become much more aware of her surroundings over the past year, but now she simply looks at everything with interest now - not just the stars.
Galaxy's nose is undefined - Nostrils fade into the nose itself, making it look somewhat like a triangle. Her bridge is narrow, and may give the appearance of her nose being comparable to a squash - narrow on the top but wide on the bottom. If anything, it looks more like this type of food than the geometric triangle - triangles do not have rounded edges. She doesn't really like her nose, but for the most part, Galaxy hasn't really started to dislike anything rather profusely. However, her nose does irk her a tad bit - she feels that it's simply too small, too rounded.
The lips are relatively thin and undefined. Her lips themselves are normally chapped during the winter. This is especially prominent when she bites her lip, as it develops an extremely painful sore, which makes her whole mouth look rather unhealthy, puffy and painful. She doesn't really wear lipstick; it is much too costly to continue to buy "small sticks of paint", and she thinks that her mouth would just feel odd having a layer of color on top of it. Her teeth are slightly crooked and yellow. She does not tend to brush her teeth extremely thoroughly, although she does brush her tongue. She does floss regularly, so her breath doesn't really stink or anything.
Ms. Clement's arms and legs are frail. She does not tend to run or anything of the sort, so there is not much muscle to be found here. The bones themselves are frail as well - she does not have many calcium-filled foods, as she is simply doesn't like milk very much. In addition, she is slightly lactose intolerant, causing her to feel a tad bit nauseous when eating cheeses or milk in excess. But anyways, her bones are rather fragile, and may break under a lot of pressure. She doesn't really exert herself, so they haven't really broken yet, but without this kind of nutrition, it will happen. Eventually.
The hands are normally smooth, for she does not tend to exert it in any way. Smooth, thin hands and fingers are what's present at this time. Her fingers themselves are somewhat on the shorter side, and are rather thin. There is a callus on the side of her left middle finger however. She is a lefty, and writes a lot every single day, be it writing down notes in school or jotting down astronomy charts while interning at the Observatory.
Galaxy has very small feet. More often than not, they tend to have a bruise or cut of some sort from tripping. She's a very clumsy girl, and finds herself tripping on her own feet at times, especially when in her house. She often falls down the stairs because she's reading whilst walking, etc. Her father constantly yells at her for this, but she doesn't care one bit. She continues her dangerous habit anyways, despite her previous repercussions.
keep your feet on the ground
when your head's in the clouds
With a curious mindset bestowed upon Galaxy Clements, it is likely to see her frolicking around the District, regardless of how shady the neighborhood actually is. She likes to look at absolutely everything. She also questions a lot of things as well, causing her to be disliked by many teachers for her long-winded arguments. Galaxy simply wants to know why everything is what it is, if that makes sense. In better terms, Galaxy Clements would like to know the reason behind every single thing in the Universe. She wasn't always this way though - before, stars were the only thing that filled her mind, the colors and brightness, etc. But now, she just feels that everything deserves the same kind of attention as stars.
Due to this curious mindset, Galaxy sometimes becomes zoned out while wondering about a particular topic. This may explain her rather mediocre grades (although they're slowly rising from their Ds to C+s). She simply ends up starting a large argument in her head as to why certain things exist, not focusing on the lesson plan, nor her surroundings. She even occasionally wanders in circles whilst thinking about something.
She has become rather clumsy because of this. Scratches and bruises are easily shown on her arms and legs - she tends to trip often, causing bumps and bruises to occur at a constant rate, due to her incapability of really concentrating on where she's going. She'll trip over banana peels, her own shoelaces, even pebbles that are just strewn across the sidewalk are hazardous to this girl's health. Her ripped ear proves this - she fell down the stairs while reading, ripping her ear in half. However, this tendency decreases when in dire peril - her senses become more acute, and somehow she manages to put one foot in front of the other without tripping over them.
This probably happens because during dire situations, she becomes surprisingly capable. One might think that she would freak out at a little problem. But Galaxy is steadfast, and is able to complete tasks under a lot of pressure. Perhaps she will have a slightly shaky voice, and her movements will be cautious, but she is very capable of certain things that one would most definitely not expect of the fourteen-year old. She's actually better at working under extreme circumstances - ideas pop into her head at these times; perhaps this occurs because it's in a do-or-die situation? Either way, these ideas tend to help her get things done, from schoolwork to moving bodies to secluded warehouses in the middle of nowhere.
She tends to become easily excited - becoming happy by the simplest mention of a half-day, or the fact that there will be a meteor shower sometime this week. Her peppiness can certainly bring a different vibe to a conversation - a lighthearted one. However, it is possible that the tone of the conversation will be muted by her bluntness. You see, she says whatever she thinks. She feels no guilt from her words. If she thinks you're a bitch, she'll say so to your face. If she thinks you're an idiot, the comment will pop out of her vocal chords in a spontaneous manner. She's very random in a way; saying things to a person seemingly out of the blue, walking around in circles, etc.
Galaxy is a messy girl. Her room is a hazardous zone, filled with papers strewn across the floor. She's very disoriented in this way - not being able to find what she's looking for. Oftentimes, her homework gets lost in the rubble as well, causing aggravation and hours spent finding a little scrap of a worksheet, that may be in clear sight. She's very hasty, not being able to find something and giving up due to mere boredom. She could find things after a while, she just decides not to. Her father yells at her to clean up, but she doesn't.
This is because the girl is both rebellious and stubborn. Not only will she refuse to listen to her father, but she will insist that she is perfectly fine, and is able to find her things easily in the war zone. This of course, is a big fat lie, but she doesn't want her father to know that he's right. She loathes her father for many reasons: his constant nagging, his yelling, the endless amounts of meatloaf that she's forced to consume, as well as other, more important things. She blames her father for many problems, and storms up to her room in a huff when angry at him, causing her to become grounded. Thus, she spends a good portion of her time stuck in her room, procrastinating on her homework, and gazing out the window.
Well go get your shovel
And we'll dig a deep hole
To bury the castle, bury the castle
It was a cloudy day when the two of them first met each other. Well, technically they had already met each other years ago, but they had never talked to each other in their entire lives. You see, Amelia and Derek had been in the same math class for ages, but never had really noticed each others. The fact that her name was Whysteria, and that his name was Clements proved this - they were seated in alphabetical order, so being on the other side of the room never provided much room for conversation.
But one day, the two of them were walking into the small cafe in the District Square. Both of them had been working as interns for a long time, so their lunch break was precious to both of them. Neither of the two were looking at where they were going - one was preoccupied with what his work schedule was. The other had just been distracted by a colorful bird flying past the window. So it had taken just one moment for the crash.
Papers went flying, as well as coffee and soup. A slight curse was heard as the food landed on the floor. Not pausing a beat, the two of them started to clean the mess up together, their apologies being incorporated in the process. A few muttered insults were thrown out as well - he liked his coffee. As she heard those words, her face became red, and she began to yell at him, pestering him to actually apologize. Finally, he did, and promptly left the café.
The two met again one day, at the Reaping. Once again, they bumped into each other. However, since they were both 17, neither of them was really thinking about the other. Instead, they had hoped that they wouldn't be reaped themselves. The mayor stepped out, and read the slips.
Amelia Whysteria. Benjamin LeFontescaut.
She was picked. She was to be in the Hunger Games. With shaking legs, the girl silently walked up to the stage, and the mayor asked for any volunteers. There was one. With a flourish, Amelia's older sister, Marie, walked up. She instantly became a crowd favorite with her dramatic entrances and such. Amelia could only watch as her only sister stood on stage, beaming from ear to ear. Then, the ground caught up with her, and she fainted.
He wasn't thinking, but Derek rushed towards the girl, helping her up. Vaguely, he wondered why he was doing this, but for once didn't question his instinct as her eyes fluttered open. They really were nice eyes, he thought. A bright caramel color. He felt strange, like there was something in the pit of his stomach, just... fluttering. Words came out of his mouth, soft and hoarse.
"You... Are you alright?"
"I... I think so..."
She answered him in a confused voice. Clearly, she didn't know why she was in this man's arms, nor did she remember why she was in the District Square until she looked at the stage. So with that, Marie Whysteria left the District for battle, her family watching.
He finally got the nerve to ask her out after a few days. Of course, she was distracted by her sister's impending doom, but for some reason, she found herself accepting his offer. She didn't know why; perhaps she found this man attractive, or just wanted to relax a tad bit. Either way, the two of them found themselves in the District Square, watching the Bloodbath commence. Silence was unfolded as the two watched the carnage, slightly cuddling for warmth.
Marie was surprisingly fast. Plus, her beauty and attitude actually gave her a few sponsors - not bad for a girl from 6. She managed to make an ally as well. Together, her and the girl from 8 managed to survive for a couple of days, living off the spoils from other tributes, as well as their own goodies. You see, they had fought viciously at the Bloodbath. Amelia was shocked to see her sister kill the boy from 4 with a quick stab in the eye. The Careers wanted revenge however, but couldn't find the duo for a long time.
The tributes had been dropping steadily. Each day, at least one had died, most having been murdered by the remaining three Careers - they hadn't been so lucky after the Bloodbath. By Day 15, there were only 7 tributes left. District 6 had been in an uproar for days - both of their tributes were alive, a feat that was normally near to impossible for any non-career district. Derek had never seen Amelia so... Hopeful. Throughout the weeks, the color had returned to her face. A smile or two appeared, something which he found to be rather fascinating and beautiful. Her happiness created something inside of the boy.
Before they had reached the square, he kissed her. It was sudden, yet the girl responded as well. It was a tender kiss, filled with endless hopes and possibilities. Perhaps Marie would come home. Maybe something grand would blossom out of this relationship. When the lips parted, all that was left was two blushing teenagers with almost no worries whatsoever. That was what teenagers' lives should have been, right? Filled with frolic and fun, no stressing about their own demise by the hands of another. Yes - this is what a teenager's life should have been.
As Derek led his girlfriend (they had made it official the night before) towards the bench, Amelia felt... odd. For once in her life, she had no worries whatsoever. She didn't think of Marie, nor did she worry about her job, her friends, nothing. The only thing there was Derek, and at that moment in time, he was all that really mattered.
That day had been brutal for the tributes. 3 of them died that day - one of them being Marie's ally. You see, they had been ambushed by the Careers, with their weapons galore, endless supplies of knives, arrows, swords. The abundance of weapons and strength was too much for the duo, whose supply of food had already been dwindling, making them weak. Sure, they did fight hard, and managed to kill the girl from 2. But before they could turn around, off went her head, rolling on the ground.
Marie screamed, and ran, forgetting all about her supplies, about the man who began to chase her through the woods. All she could think about was Luci's head, simply lying there next to her lifeless body. They ran after each other for, the girl gaining a large lead. Soon, he had lost her, and resigned to returning to pick up whatever scraps hadn't been picked up by the hovercraft. But when he got there, the boy from 6 had already ran off with his weapons and supplies. Without much to eat, and already being dehydrated, the Career died in the night, his cannon alarming the remaining Career, who had deserted the others, taking his stuff before he spotted the D6 boy.
With 5 left, the Gamemakers were in the midst of conjuring something up to bring them together, when two of them found each other. Marie had simply been walking. But then she felt her foot trip over something, and she was pulled upwards, her foot caught in a trap. dangling upside down, she knew that she was done for. The person had to be here, watching, ready to make the final move. Then, she felt herself being dropped, a knife cutting the rope, her body being dragged off.
The screams were loud and horrendous. The... the humiliating things that the D1 boy did to her... Amelia couldn't look, she just wept as the screams of her sister echoed throughout the entire district. The torture seemed to last forever, until finally, a cannon boomed. The fact that the torturer was murdered only a few minutes afterward wasn't enough to make her any happier.
They continued to watch everyday; it became a routine for them. She'd sit there, her head buried in his jacket, and he'd simply put his arm around her. They stayed like this for hours upon end, not caring who died, who lived to see the next day. Who won. The finale had been brutal - neither of the tributes were Careers. In fact, the boy from 6 and the girl from 9 were the ones who remained. People flocked to the district square, comforting his family, rooting for the boy, Ben, himself.
Surprisingly, the battle was short. The girl hadn't realized just how powerful a throwing knife could be until it was lodged in between her eyes. The cannon sounded, and the boy was brought back home, his eyes hollow and empty.
Life continued. The two continued their dates, walking to the District Square, cuddling. Sometimes they would walk to the College Lawn, and have a picnic on the grass, which became greener and greener every year. The next Games came and went - they were now free from the torture that her sister had gone through. This didn't cheer them up, but it made them realize that they wouldn't have to spend their last moments stuck inside some godforsaken place, withering away to nothing.
One evening, the two were simply sitting on a grassy hilltop, looking at the stars. Amelia had gotten a job in the Observatory, and they were congratulating her success with a small bottle of apple juice. Their dates were simple like that - a loaf of bread, a bottle of water, etc. But there was something else in store. A ring was brought out, tears were created, and a union was born.
The wedding was simple - family and friends only. The springtime, with its lovely colors and flowering trees, was the setting of this special event. The rings were exchanged, the kiss created. There wasn't a cake - only the rich could really afford one. But they ate well for an average family. Soon, they were in their own home, on top of the hilltop that the proposal had been issued.
Soon, a child was born, given the name Galaxy. Her mother had always loved that name, and her father found it fitting. For the baby's eyes were a bright warm silver, similar to her dad's. Galaxy's mother always said that her family's eyes were so much prettier than her own - it looked like the stars themselves were shining within them. Her middle name - Marie, was given to her because the parents hoped that the same sunny personality that Amelia's deceased sister owned would be transferred to their daughter.
As she grew, Galaxy found herself on the College Lawn at least once a week, lying on a picnic blanket with her parents. The three of them were happy like this - eating, laughing, enjoying the night skies. Amelia taught her daughter the names of the constellations, and the two would try and spot them every night, Galaxy pointing to them with earnest. But then one day, it all stopped.
Amelia had been feeling under the weather for quite some time now, and had ventured to the apothecary for some guidance. A few test results later, and the disease was determined. It was one of those old ones that had sprung up rapidly before the Dark Days. There was treatment, but it was much too expensive for the family to really afford. Rest was prescribed, and Derek took this literally. Slowly, Amelia wasn't able to go out as often - stuck in bed, she protested. There was work that needed to be done, stars that needed to be found! But her husband kept her there. Perhaps he truly took the doctor's false words to heart, hoping that maybe, just maybe, she would get better.
He never told Galaxy what was going on. The only thing the girl was aware of was that her mother was home often. Her six-year old mind reasoned that she was just tired, and needed to sleep more. Often, the girl would crawl into her parent's bed, and read her mother a bedtime story, thinking that perhaps it might help her mommy gain strength.
It didn't. One day, her mother called Galaxy into the room. Being 8, she now had a sense of what was going on, but still didn't quite understand it. But still, she held her mother's bony hand as she spoke, her voice hoarse with sickness and fatigue.
"Galaxy," her mother said.
"Yes mother?"
"When you're older... People are going to judge you differently. It's important to not listen to them - be yourself. That way... That way you know that you really are doing the right thing."
"The right thing mama?"
"That you're doing what you're doing because... you want to do it - not because others want you to."
"Oh, alright mama. Get better soon, 'kay?"
"Alright sweetie... I love you."
"Love you too!"
A few hours later, a sob was heard, and a phone call was made. Galaxy didn't realize her mother was dead until the burial took place. Angered, she confronted her father as soon as it ended.
"Why didn't you tell me!?"
"Tell you what Galaxy, that your mother was sick? That she was going to die?"
"Yes! Why... Why would you not tell me at all!? It's only making it hurt more, that... that I couldn't do anything, anything at all!"
"None of us could Galaxy."
"Then why was she here, in this house, for years upon end? Why couldn't she just do whatever she wanted?"
"... I..."
"Why!?"
"..."
Their relationship became distant, lessened further by the constant arguments that erupted between the two of them. By the age of 10, Galaxy was furious at her father every single day, yelling words like "I hate you" frequently. It was not - and still isn't, a good relationship.
School was underway, Galaxy's grades suffered, mainly because the only thing she was interested in was stars. Kids began to tease her, making fun about everything, from her red hair, to the clothes that she wore. It angered the girl, but she followed her mother's advice. She kept moving forwards, not caring about whatever her classmates did to her.
One day, she met another girl quite similar to her. She went by Melodi, and the two of them had a grand adventure, looking at the stars, and exploring a secret compartment inside the actual observatory. She was simply fascinated by this. She has not seen Melodi as of late, but Galaxy still knows that she made a good friend.
After meeting a large group of criminals, Galaxy was shocked to see that there were so many different kinds of people in District 6. She had assumed that everyone followed the rules here. Clearly, this was not the case Meeting a cannibal, an arsonist, a sadist and a twelve-year old mastermind really brightened her view on life. She didn't want to end up like them - corrupt, creepy. She began to study more, paying more attention to grades. Her teachers began to notice her more in class. She began to argue - finding "flaws" in rules and such, which infuriated teachers to no end.
So now, Galaxy Clements goes through life, questioning everything, tripping on her own two feet, wondering what's to come next.
For who knows? The pathway called life twists and turns, one never knows what comes next.
But Galaxy Clements is ready to face this, and to walk through with her head held high, regardless of what anyone else says.

Ms. Clements has already been accepted. However, her current biography is rather Sue-ish, contains little detail and is not aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. Therefore, this is an updated biography.
