Personality:
Tall for her age, Delta stands at 5 feet 10 inches. She sports a pair of long legs, along with some decently long arms. Her feet are flat and wide and a staggering size 11, while her hands are small and delicate-looking, though the calluses that cover her fingers tell a different story. Delta pretty tall, and while she'd tecnically skinny, she's still got a wide pair of hips and shoulders on her. Strong arms and muscled calves tell of a childhood full of hard-work. Her skin is light, and she has a light smattering of freckles on her nose.
Delta's eyes are hazel and perfectly round. She's got medium-set cheeks and high, arched eyebrows that tend to grow together if she doesn't pluck them. She inherited her Mother's small mouth and full lips, but also her Father's huge teeth. She's got one heck of a white smile, her grin takes up most of her face when she smiles. A long nose that turns up slightly at the end, Delta's face is pretty well balanced. She's got long, shoulder-blade length blonde hair that falls in curls and waves.
Not part of the priviledged upper class part of District 4, Delta has worked for the district for as long as she can remember. Her family owns a small crabbing boat for the District's fishing company, and she has her fair share of scars from mishaps on the boat. The most noticable scar being a gash on her neck and collarbone she got when she was younger from an accident with a hook. Her arms are covered in little nicks and scratches, as are her shins and feet.
Delta may seem confident and comanding, but don't let her hight fool you; she's no socialite. Raised on good old fashioned morals, Delta has no qualms about setting right into her work, and has no problem working silently. She has never been a talker, and prefurs the monotonous silence of hard labor to the meaningless chatter of shallow friendships. But even so, she sometimes wishes she could be more outgoing. She's genuinely kind, but doesn't make friends easily, due to the fact that her shyness around other people and her tallness intimidate most people her age.History:
When around true friends (which are few and far between) her true colors shine through. She's sarcastic and likes to laugh, and can be overpoweringly loud when she does so! She's generous, to a point. She'd help a nearby boat haul in a particularly large haul of fish, but not give up any of her fish to the beggars on the docks. She's kind, not stupid.
Being alone most of her time gives her alot of time to think. She's quick to learn and quick on her feet. Clever and streetsmart, she can weasle her way into any bargain imaginable. She has incredible powers of persuation, and has an easier time talking to adults than anyone her own age. She's strong and determined, and doesn't give up on anything.
Born to Abigail and Atol Aberglade, Delta started out life playing on the deck of her Father's crabbing boat instead of a plapen, making pets out of crabs instead of baby birds, drawing pictures of fish instead of her family. She even decorated her room with fishnets hanging from the cieling! Her family's career greatly influenced her childhood, and unfortunately, it also ostracized her from her peers. Growing up in District 4, alot of the families were decently well off. Not the Aberglades. Sure, they weren't starving, but they didn't have the money for any extras or fancy things. All their money went to keeping their house, keeping their boat and keeping food on the table. And children are cruel creatures; when they saw little Delta walking to school in last years clothes, in sandals instead of fancy Capitol shoes, they marked her as an outcast, and wanted nothing to do with her.Codeword: oDair
Delta wasn't unhappy. She never found solace in the company of people anyway. Her parents were fine, but in general, she liked to be alone. She would spend hours on the docks, looking out at the sea, watching boats come in and go out. She spent the majority of her childhood that way, and when she was old enough, she started helping out on her Father's boat. She was an only child, so the brunt of the work fell on her shoulders, seeing as their family was too poor to hire any help. But again, she didn't mind. She just gritted her teeth and smiled.
When she entered the Higher Grade levels, right around the time one might consider a kid a High Schooler, she was delighted to find that her peers no longer actively ignored her. They merely forgot about her existance. To a girl who'd been scoffed at and laughed at and ignored all her life, this was quite a novel thing. She no longer had to worry about rumors behind her back, besides how tall she was, there was almost no child in her class that could remember her name! She's happy with that, and has been happy with it ever since.
