Meg Daae || District 6

Meg happens to be the type of girl that looks fourteen rather than seventeen, something about her stunted height mixed with tiny features apparently influences that.

Meg seems to be a deathly pale white in skin tone, her mother's overbearing "don't get sunburned or you'll die" talks inevitably lead to a white as a daisy young lady. Her hair - which is usually left hanging limp to about her shoulder blades with a small 'flick' at the bottom is left with not much of a fringe, and doesn't seem to possess much more colour than her skin tone, being a very light blonde "with a hint of honey" as she so often hears.

Her face is rather round in shape, and looks as though she hasn't yet lost her 'baby fat' - resulting in a rather innocent looking young girl; the sparkling almond shaped and coloured eyes combined with the smiling red lips and pink flushed cheeks just seem to set off the 'baby face' look all that much more.

Meg is rarely seen without a smile plastered upon her face, and often wears white or cream due to her mother, who she claims has OCD since everything must at least "look sterile" - you can't hide stains in white... Though beneath the faux exterior of a "perfect child" meg is rather troubled, and takes this out on herself. Various scars which remain hidden travel up her thighs and fore arms, though due to her own pale complexion even if she isn't hiding them they are hardly noticeable - unless she's extremely cold or flushed which is when they really stand out, turning a more pearl white than stark white.

"Lottie", on the other hand, usually has a bit of a more serious look on her face, her smiles don't always reach and make her eyes 'glitter' like they seem on 'meg'

To begin with, Meg is thought to have a "split personality disorder". Of course, she doesn't really, though it gets her out of trouble and is generally easier for her to just sit, nod and agree rather than go through a whole new series of test.

"Meg" is generally a "little miss goody two-shoes", always crossing her "t"s, dotting her "i"s and minding her "please" and "Thank yous", her parents were very old fashioned in the way they bought her up - believing that parent's still chose for their son's and so 'molding' their daughter the way they thought would make her more 'desirable'. Meg is, apparently, too weak willed, to do anything other than what her parents (and almost everyone else) tell her to do, which is usually done with a quick bob of the head before she leaves to do as she's told. Meg is usually left for when the adults, or someone to impress, happens to be around.

"Lottie", on the other hand, tends to have a bit more 'personality' than "Meg" does. Lottie tends to be the one doing the drugs, hanging out on the roof tops past 'bed time'. Lottie also tends to be rather promiscuous compared to her "Meg" half, and can often times be found with a few guys, and a hand on her legs in the 'rougher' parts of district six.

This seems to be what her parents believe, anyway, in her group of friends Meg is more commonly known as "Lottie" - this is her way of putting her past behind her and moving on, she's only really known as her birth name at home, to her parents. She hardly ever talks of what happened to her during the past year, turning sour whenever someone broaches on it, or even hints at asking "where were you?"

on the sixteenth of June "Megan Lottie Daae" was born to a well known nurse "Amelda Rosaline Daae" and a well known psychologist "Patrick James Daae", who were also well known for being highly loyal to the capitol, four days early. Technically she was born into luxury though her first few months she has been told were far less than easy.

Other than that, Meg grew up with a rather happy child hood. The only thing that really stood out in her childhood which irritated her happened to be when a group of guys were teasing her, in which she reacted and thus resulted in being compared to a "piranha" - as she was "tiny but had a big bite", literally.... Naturally, she was offended, though as she hit the age of eleven her father had started training her in hand-to-hand combat, building up her strength. It was on one of these nights she realized the benefits of such a nickname and started to embrace it.

At fifteen Meg started questioning the capitol, and her last few years of her father training her as a tribute. At first, like everything, tribute training had been new and thus exciting for a girl who was, at the time, still rather sheltered and naive to the true colours of the games. It had once been all glamour, fame, and excitement though as she grew and realized the pain that also came with it she started to resent it - and even started to question her parent's motives and resent them. Her parents had assumed it was just a phase and she would 'see her way clear' and so left her for a year to figure herself out.

As she reached sixteen, and still hadn't "seen the light" her parents - who were devout followers and believers of all things "Capitol" they started to grow weary of their only daughter, who could send them all to jail or death with one wrong comment or question. This being considered, Meg 'mysteriously' left school during her sixteenth year.

She never talks about what happened during that year, though with her dad being a psychologist he was able to have her locked up - claiming she was "mentally unstable" and "unfit for outside interaction". During that year, she was kept in a room free of most forms of "stimulation" to "keep her calm" and to avoid her injuring herself, the room was always kept at a warm enough temperature and she wasn't supplied with bed sheets or anything else she could possibly use in a self harming way.
The strapping to the bed started once a week, with a high tech computer used to monitor her brainwaves. She had no idea how, and still doesn't to this day, but apparently they were able to differentiate between "neutral", "positive" and "negative" thoughts toward the capitol. She would hardly be able to confirm, though during these times she was "hijacked" and, thus, her memories and thought pattern manipulated to forget all her questions or remarks against the capitol and her training as a career. This carried on for a year, and during this time she completely lost track of how many times she was monitored and hijacked, until her thought patterns processed as "positive" or "neutral".

A year later she was released, healthy and - to a degree - happy. She completely ignored people asking where she was, either shutting off completely or ignoring the questions. She couldn't bare to hear the name she was given at birth anymore, as it was also the one she was referred to as, during her stay in the asylum. Instead, she started to be known as her middle name - "Lottie" around school and the district, as her way of putting the year behind her. From then she also begun stealing small doses of morphling from her mother's stores which were kept for out of hours healing, along with self harm and a few other select drugs she managed to get her hands on in the 'shadier' areas of district six. According to Lottie it's amazing how much can be obtained from a flash of the leg..
