Age: 16
Gender: Female
District/Area: The Capitol
Appearance:
Rakuzen loves to stay up-to-date with Capitol fashions, so she is always dying her hair and skin, constantly changing with the times. She would not, to outsiders, be considered pretty, but in the Captiol she is considered a trendsetter. She has two tattoos, one is a chain of stairs, in white, forming a bracelet around her wrist. The second one is a monarch butterfly on the back of her shoulder, outlined in black and filled in with purple. The only thing that never changes about her hair is its length, which she has cut every week so that it sits just in the middle of her back. Her hair is naturally a light brown, but as of right now, is pale lavender, and permed to fall in loose curls down her back. She just dyed her skin to a light, pearl pink, and, despite her begging, does not have any enhancements other than tattoos and dyes.Personality:
She is of medium height, about 5'7", and she is naturally quite skinny, despite having three square meals a day. Her parents, who are very rich and willing to make her happy, had her teeth fixed by Capitol doctors as soon as they all grew in, so that they are completely straight and almost blindingly white. Although Capitol fashion is always changing, Rakuzen feels most comfortable wearing "Lolita-style" clothes in "Gothic Lolita" and "Sweet Lolita", alternating between pink and black colors, with most of her wardrobe consisting of poofy skirts and dresses, corsets, frills, laces, and blouses. Her eyes are naturally a very light brown, although she loves to wear colored contacts and constantly changes her eye color.
Rakuzen is the only child of a very successful and highly recommended plastic surgeon and a boutique owner, and as a result, is very, very spoiled. Basically anything that she wants, she receives. She has always been more interested in fashion and entertainment than her schoolwork, and it shows. At school, she is a total ditz who always has something to say about her schoolmates' appearance, which, added to her lack of a filter, can lead to animosity. She tries to be nice, but is generally perceived as snotty, superficial, and high-maintenence. She has a select group of friends who are just like her in personality, and she rarely branches out to make new friends.History:
Friendly is almost never the adjective that one would use to describe her. She has an attitude problem due to always getting her way, which adds to people's perception of her as a snob. Her tastes, just like the Capitol's fashions, are always changing, and so she is known for dating a new boy every week, just long enough for her to get bored and pick a new one. She is aware that schoolmates laugh at and mock her behind her back, but is the type of person who thinks that it is "only because they are jealous." She is very superficial, and so her idea of beauty usually involves alterations, although she is constantly betting on the best-looking Tribute for the Hunger Games.
Rakuzen is also very naive about the world. Having grown up in the Capitol with extremely wealthy parents, she has never known hardship or hard times, nor has she ever felt an empty stomach. Every year after the Hunger Games, her parents take her to visit the site of the previous Games, so she is an avid viewer of it every year, and is always guaranteed a spot on the Victory tour party in the President's mansion due to her parent's connection. This involvement in the Hunger Games has also made her the envy of most of her friends, especially because she is constantly seen on television from being a viewer in many of the pre-Hunger Games interviews and such. One thing that she does every year is raise a collection from her friends and parents' friends to sponsor a gift for Tributes in the arena
Rakuzen is, as previously stated, the only child of her highly esteemed plastic surgeon father, and boutique owner mother. Her mother was a Hunger Games stylist until she retired sixteen years ago, when Rakuzen was born. During her twenty years as a stylist, her designs and outfits were always well-received, and so she runs a very successful boutique on Style Street, where Rakuzen occasionally will work after school. Rakuzen grew up spending many of her afternoons in the store, watching all the fashions that came in and left, which she believes is the reason she has such a love of fashion. Her father can claim responsibility for many of the alterations that are famous in the Capitol, such as whiskers, Botox, etc, although he refuses to alter her in any way until she reaches the age of 18. Both careers are very high-paying, and Rakuzen has always had ways to attain all the clothes and colors she needs.Codeword: odair
As a child, Rakuzen spent a lot of time in her mother's shop, and was forced to learn piano, flute, and violin. She took to all three very easily, although she threw a fit when she turned ten and refused to continue playing it, but she can occasionally be coaxed into playing for parties. She has gone to the same affluent private school for her entire life, where the people have always stayed the same, and so she is used to routine and "normalcy." She has always been a student of low grades, and her parents make extra donations to her school in order to keep her there.
Because of her knack and flair for fashion, Rakuzen aspires to be like her mother and become a Hunger Games stylist or, even better, marry someone richer than her and not work at all. Desipte her attitude and personality, because of her family's wealth and connections, she has no shortage of admirers in the Capitol. She spends her vacations visiting old Hunger Games arenas, and spends her afternoons and nights either partying with her friends, reading style magazines, shopping, or watching Hunger Games re-runs. Her parents' careers were well-established by the time she was born, and so she has never known poverty, hunger, or anything of the type. Two things that she cannot wait to do are have her father perform alterations, and fall in love with the right kind of guy who will keep her interested for more than one week.
