Personality:
Faith has luscious black hair that cascades over her shoulders and down her back in soft ringlets, stopping just above her waist. Her bangs are side-swept to the left side of her face and blends in with the rest of her hair. Her eyes are an almost iridescent, and rare, shade of green, which is quite uncommon where she lives (in the District 9 equivalent of the Seam.). Her face shape, the feature she's always disliked most about herself, is a cross between round and narrow, and quite odd. Not in any way grotesque, but unusual. She has a cute pixie-like nose, and medium cheek bones, that are just the right size for her face.
Due to lack of proper nutrition in the poorer parts of district 9, Faith is quite skinny, but also fit. She doesn't have light skin, but it's not overly tanned either, though edging on being as such. She has a large scar that runs across her hip, starting at the top of her thigh and running up to just under her navel, it's definitely an oddity on her body and quite pronounced. On her left wrist, she has the letter 'D' with a halo of leaves surrounding it that she cut into herself enough times to make it scar as a way of outwardly expressing her love for her boyfriend. When she first hit puberty, her mother bought her a razor as an expensive birthday present. She uses it to shave, though most of the time she doesn't have enough time or energy to complete the task, so she tends to just go all natural.
For clothing, Faith isn't very picky. If it stays on it's good enough. Throw it against the wall each morning, if it doesn't stick, it's clean. That's her rule. Every now and then she'll get someone to wash what few clothes she has. During warmer days she'll wear a fitted black tank top, khaki shorts, and grimy old sneakers that she's had for years. For cooler days she has a flimsy black, long-sleeve, turtle-neck shirt, a pair of long, baggy pants with what is thought by her to be too many pockets, and either her hunting boots, combat boots, or sneakers. On very cold days she has a moth eaten, but never the less warm, jacket to keep her from getting too chilled.
One thing that will never be said about Ms. DuPree is that she is bubbly, in fact she is anything but. She's fairly nice but tends to shy away from socialization do to her tendency to snap at people she finds annoying. Having a combination between a short temper and a negative outlook on life isn't a very good way to make friends, but she honestly doesn't care. Occasionally she'll find someone deemed trustworthy and let them become a part of her life. Though, for Faith, it takes a whole lot to get her to open up about her somewhat dark and tragic past. In fact, her boyfriend is the only one who actually knows the whole story. Around and with him, she's everything she's not to other people. He's just about the only when he can drag a genuine laugh or smile from her young yet timeworn spirit. And she will completely open up to him about everything.History:
Likewise, Faith is one of those girls who will stand up and fight for herself and those few she loves no matter what the cost. She gets easily angered at people trying to shield her from painful parts of life, with the exception of her boyfriend, she let's him take care of her. She hides her emotions, and past, from any and every one who hasn't figured out someway to get close to her. If she's crying in public, it can be assumed something horrible has happened to her.
As can be assumed, Faith is quite mysterious and very secretive. Though, she is quite picky of her surrounding and no very sociable, she likes nighttime. Anytime after nightfall and she will most likely be found relaxing on the roof, staring up into the luminescent light of the large orb hanging in the sky. Because of her love of the night, and the meaning it holds for her, Faith is not happy about particularly sunny days, heat, or bright lights. If the day's cloudy and raining, it's a good day for her.
Faith Rineigh DuPree was born sixteen years ago in the richer part of District 9. She grew up with nice, but seemingly unessential material items that held no real value to her. When she was twelve her parents were offered a job in District 1 as consultants for creating new items that they had been sketching at home for years. After being told that they could have the job and leave a decent life, but they would have to leave their kids. It took them all of five seconds to decide and the next morning they were on a train to District 1. Not even bothering with goodbyes to the children the claimed to love.Codeword: Odair
Faith's older brother Jackson starting taking care of the family after having to move himself, Faith, and their younger brother, Hugh, to the Seam. He found a glorified hunter who showed him how to use a bow and arrows, how to make and use a spear, and how to properly use tonfa-styled blades as a quick end to an injured animal. Jackson started teaching Faith, she didn't like using the spear, and preferred the tonfa blades or bow and arrows.
Around the time when she turned fourteen two men broke into their house to steal what little spoils they were allowed to keep from their old somewhat rich lifestyle. However these two men weren't expecting anyone to be home. Her little brother's end was quick, a deep slash across the throat by one of the intruders. Next they came after her, and one of them threw a knife at her. Jackson had heard commotion and got up, only to jump in front of Faith and have the knife embed itself in his skull. She took to defending herself and lost the first battle, the result being one of the men raped her in her own bed. Once she regained the strength, and courage, she won and slaughtered them both like animals. The town mayor ruled it as self-defense, and she was not charged for murder.
Soon later, with no home and nowhere to turn, Faith ran into her current boyfriend, Damon. He helped her through her trauma, got her back on track, cared for her. It was something she hadn't even been able to do for herself, and he just swept in and decided to take care of her. In present day, her and Damon have taken up hunting and work as tradesmen with the black market, and a few others who pay well for what they gather, snare, and shoot. They live together in a small one-room house, with one grimy window, a small kitchen, and almost unusable bathroom. It was low grade, even by the Seam's standards, but they're happy together.
