Age: 14
Gender: Female
District/Area: District 11
Appearance:
She is plain in appearance, and her small eyes are steel grey. Her nose is also small and pointed and she has a thick mop of black hair, which she normally scrapes into a ponytail. Her skin is quite tanned but damaged from the sun. A scar runs down her pack from exposure. Her skin is also pink in places.Personality:
She is skinny and has bony fingers. although she designes capitol clothing, she hasn't the money to buy the material or time to make them. Her work clothes are a dull grey and unflattering, and her shoes are holey, although she hates wearing them and goes barefeet whenever possible. She bites her nails raw due to constant stress. She carries with her a necklace, which has a golden leaf on the end with a K carved into it, which was a present from her mother.
Her skin is worn on her face, which causes people to think she's older than she is.
Kianna dreams of moving to the Capitol and escaping the constant threat of being reaped for the Hunger Games, which she is desparate to avoid. Although she hates having to watch people die her sense of self-preservation is stronger than her guilt. Every Hunger Games she observes the capitol citizens as closely as she can, writing down everything she can find out about them, the fashion trends, the habits. She considers every day to commit a crime and become an avox just to get to go there, but could never bring herself to. She mainly fears the Hunger Games because she has never held a weapon before and her only advantage would be her drive to keep herself alive.History:
She isn't a very friendly person and doesn't make an effort to impress anyone. Her face is mostly in a scowl but when she does smile, mostly when daydreaming, her face lights up and she looks her own age, if not younger. She wasn't built for working in the fields, but she has to to keep money coming in. Her work is often poor quality but there is plenty of it.
Her escape is art. She spent most of her money on an easel, paper and paints. She will paint for hours in the back garden and she is a different person. She paints the wildlife as it goes past, and whatever she feels she expresses on the paper. She tries to sell them but hardly makes any money. Her family doesn't care for her talent either, and their constant picking on her is the reason for her being so shy and withdrawn.
Kianna was brought up in District 11 by her mother and father. Her sister, Kyla, was seven years old a year ago. Her mother and Father were strict parents and very hardworking. they were away often and Kianna spent a lot of time trying to please them. her late sister was the obvious favourite, and had big brown eyes which she used to charm herself out of trouble and she resented that. Kianna was a lot nicer back then though, and tolerated her little sister.Codeword: Road
One day, she took Kyla out to the river. she got absorbed in her painting, and spent hours getting the flow of the river and the beauty of the sunset down onto paper. She finally looked up, to see her sister peering a little too far in.
'No, Kyla!' she screamed, but it was too late. Her sister fell in and Kianna couldn't swim, so she didn't dare go in to help her. she watched her get swept away by the currents. When she went back to her home and stammered out to her parents what happened, they were furious. her mother slapped her and yelled for hours and told her to get her things and go. she was forced to sleep in the garden shed, and her parents refused to let her back in.
They wouldn't provide for her, and made her go to work for twice as long. Her friends abandoned her and her schoolwork suffered. The teachers eventually gave up on trying to get her to do her work to a high standard and now she barely shows up. She still tries to make her parents proud, but they refuse to even speak to her. she still keeps her necklace as a memory of happy days when her parents would occasionally play games with her and buy her presents, and she never appreciated it. Her confidence suffered as well, but she still painted. She hasn't ever gone back to where Kyla died, though, as she can't face the memories.
