The first thing that one would notice about Walker is his stature. He is a huge man, standing at 6'4" weighing 190 pounds, give or take a few. During the time when his district was actually hunting district, Walker ate very well, never having a lack of food, his healthy looking body shows that.
Since hunting was an activity that took stamina, Walker grew very strong in his legs. He was used to running long distances into the woods, so he is actually in quite good physical shape. His upper body is not exactly what one would call weak, but it is not strong compared to many men his age.
Walker always seems to have a smile on his face. Even in the worst of times he can find joy. Despite this his smile is somewhat lopsided, showing more on his left than his right. On top of his mouth lays a slight mustache, never has he been one to shave often. Also, on his chin is a slight goatee, cut precisely to go down and not cover his whole chin.
Somewhat almond shaped eyes are just a little bit too far in on this mans face. They are not too far in for someone to really notice, but when somebody is looking at Walker they would just notice something slightly off. His eyes are a very dark brown, and if not in sunlight it would be hard for someone to see the difference between his pupils and his eye color.
Acne still covers his face despite the fact that puberty is long over for this man. It is not exactly acne that would go away if he had to proper equipment to wash himself with, it is acne that he was destined to have. Acne finds its way onto his chest and back just as easily as it does his face, leaving marks all over his body.
Unlike his facial hair, Walker keeps his actual hair very clean cut. Almost black, his hair is kept very short and orderly, growing out very slowly when it does. He never has seen his hair grow long and he never does plan to; Walker thinks that his hair looks just fine the way it is.Let the rain wash away all the pain of yesterday
Walker never has been a people's person; he always tends to stay quiet, never voicing his opinion. Believe me you, he does have an opinion, he just finds it pointless to say his mind. When people argue it creates problems, problems such as the Hunger Games, or violence, and he wants no part in that. He would much rather stay neutral and take sides only when the outcome is clear.
If somebody were to ask Walker to do something, it would not work out. He is not one to take initiative; he does not come up with ideas. He is a follower. He thinks that if he takes the lead on something it will fail, every single time. It is not that he has low self-confidence; he thinks that he is a great person; he is just worried that others will think badly of him.
When he speaks, Walker does always try to be nice. At a young age he was taught to only speak if he was going to say something nice, and he has kept to that most of his life. He is not one to start a problem because of something he said, it is just not who he is. He would much rather sit back, and for example, smell the roses.
The fact that Walker is quiet does not mean that he is not opinionated. In fact, he is very opinionated. He judges people before he actually gets to know them. If someone was fat, then he would immediately assume that they were a loser, when in fact they could be the nicest person in the world. Though he is quiet about his dislikes, he would still think himself to be better than them.
Family is important to Walker; he loves his mother, father and younger sister more than anything in the world. If he was to upset any of them, which he rarely does, he would do everything he could do to make up for it. He does not need their approval to go on as a person, but he finds that it is better to have no enemies in life.
Nobody really notices Walker; he is one of those people that you could easily forget about if you were not trying to remember him. He slips in and out of things easily because nobody actually pays attention to him, which is something that he actually likes. It helps him with the one thing about him that is exceptionally different from pretty much everyone else.
Walker finds animals to be beautiful, not just on the level of: "Oh, look! What a beautiful doe that is!" More along the level of being attracted to them as a heterosexual man would be attracted to women. He does not actually want to have intercourse with an animal, but he finds almost all animals to be attractive in a way that humans are to other humans.
It is not like Walker chose to be attracted to animals, he just found himself finding them attractive. Before he started to go through puberty he thought that girls were what he was supposed to like, but his mind just changed. He no longer see's beauty in people from the outside, just the inside. Meanwhile he cannot actually find animals personalities attractive, so instead he sees beauty of animals from the outside.I know my kingdom awaits and they've forgiven my mistakes
Walker was born to a family in district nine that was middle class for where they were. His family was not exceptionally rich, nor were they exceptionally poor. They had food on the table every single night but that was mostly because Walker's father was a very good hunter, but that did not mean they had anything other than food.
Walker was quite happy to live in the hunting district, when he found out what the others had. He thought that he would always have food on the table; maybe he would not live the life of someone from District One, but he would always have food that he caught himself. Something that he would be very proud of when he was an adult.
At the age of nine, Walker got taken out to hunt for the first time. He failed miserably. But there was one thing that amazed him, how beautiful animals were. He never had problems later on with taking their lives, but he always thought that there was a majestically that animals had. Something that humans would never be able to attain.
As his dad grew older another child got born, this made it harder for Walker's dad to get the proper amount of food on the table. The fact that Walker was growing very rapidly did not help this, but somehow his dad was able to support the family of four all by himself. This made Walker sort of idolize his dad; he got things done when he had to.
Once Walker was able to hunt on his own the burden was easier for his dad. By this time though, Walker was starting to go through puberty and the need for food was a lot more. His mom would be out there working, but there was extra child to take care of, which was a lot of work in itself. Even though food was becoming harder and harder to find in great quantities, the Liggens family was still able to find enough to survive on, and in Walker's case, thrive on. As he reached the height of 6'3" when he was 17 years old.
When the new occupations of the districts were announced, Walker was floored. All his life he expected to be a hunter, he expected to have an active profession. Then, in the blink of an eye his whole life was changed. He would have to sit in a factory, live a boring life. Who would want to do that from the most active district? It seemed like the Capitol was completely wasting everything in Walker's life up to that point. He has yet to fully recover from that moment to this day.I'm coming home, I'm coming home
