( Roxanne, You Don't Have To Put On The Red Light )
Fighting isn't a hobby; it's a lifestyle. It's what keeps her alive - the feeling of when she steps into the ring and sees the people whispering her name to bet on or against her. Instead of blood running through her veins, adrenaline and sweat travels in her bloodstream. It's what kept her at least partially stable for all of those years alone at her house. It's what has gived her meaning to wake up in the morning and breathe and simply exist. Even Tieve herself doesn't know what would have happened to her if it wasn't for meeting Kelsey at the training center and then going into bare knuckle boxing.

Her pale skin shines with sweat as the light directed over her blared. Tieve threw a narrowed blue-eyed glance towards Kelsey, who she could see at the edge of the ring. It was a look that told her friend 'hey, you're gonna win some money.' And when her hand connected with the mans face, sending him to the ground, she can instantly see the way the people around her reaching into their pockets. Portions of the crowd erupt into cheers and some into groans. Tieve smiles, slightly crooked teeth shining at the people watching the fights, and places her medium-boned, muscular frame in the corner of the square fighting arena, getting ready for the next person to come into the ring.

In the meanwhile, while everybody around her is taking or giving money, she binds her blonde hair back tighter within their bounds and raises her extensive, muscular arms and stretches her back. Her ribs become so easily visible you could count each and every one of them. Tieve aims a glance at Kelsey, and outstretching her left arm, her scarred up hand (the skin ruined by the fisticuffs she involves herself in) and gives her best friend a thumbs-up. When she hears the bell ring, another person steps into the ring. Her slightly thick eyebrows rise up and she feels the adrenaline begin to come again like a wave crashing over her.

Her thin legs with muscle gathered from years of dodging punches pick herself up from the stool, and she directs herself to the center of the floor, where a guy, probably her age, stood. Her crooked teeth flashed again, and she could almost swear she sees him cower beneath her sky-blue glare that says that she is the toughest between the both of them. But when the fight starts and he aims a punch for her face, ending up in her moderately large nose breaking under the force, she is only reassured that the measly swing he threw wouldn't come anything close to anything she could hit.

It's said that the environment around a person affects their personality. But to be completely honest, when she was a kid, she had almost no environment. Her parents were always at work, and she was always home alone, teaching herself how to braid her hair and whistle. Like the large, still house around her, she became very introverted and quiet, and attempted to pass the time with any book she could get her hands on. So much time spent reading deemed her a very intelligent person, even when she turned eighteen. Her childhood trait of silence continued into her adulthood, but she is learning to be more open and talkative.

At the age of thirteen, Tieve decided that she didn't want to live bound up in the house and set out to find some social activities to do, finding Career training to be interesting and eventually, something she would love. Being a kid with parents never around and having to do everything herself, she gained the skill of being a person that sees something they want and go for it. So, she spent nearly day and night at the training center, learning what plants are bad and good and how to throw a spear and such. Even when she sat alone and begin to doubt her success as a Career, her perseverance that had always been a part of her like a tattoo pulled through, and by the age of seventeen, she was a skilled, fully fledged Career.

After finding a friend is Kelsey, a very excellent Career that had trained alongside Tieve, they both found out about the beautiful, wonderful, yet gritty, dirty world of bare knuckle boxing. Kelsey, needing money desperately, joined. Tieve, a person who was very very prone to sympathy, and empathy, joined her, placing bets on Kelsey's fights. They often switched positions with, Tieve going in the ring to give Kelsey a break from fighting. Often, when Tieve is fighting, she can see her friend looking down at a wad of bills, flipping them over and tucking them into her pocket. Whenever she glances at the muscular brunette with her knuckles raised, she remembers that even though she may think she's a horrible person, she really does have a heart and not just an empty void.

Fighting courses in her very veins, or so she thinks. She tends to get very aggressive and occasionally blows up at little things of which she instantly feels horrible for, being one of those people who still have feelings of regret after an apology is given. The one thing she can never feel remorse for, is when her fist connects with someones face; she can feel herself flare up and within a couple of minutes, bring a man her age down to the floor ~~with Kelsey it's only thirty seconds~~. With her very high success rate that makes almost everyone bet for her when she's up, she has a sense of uncrushable pride. Once, when she was fighting, she had obtained many injuries in a fight against another girl who wasn't as muscular and tough as Tieve - this girl was a newcomer in the world of fisticuffs - and was almost near the point of hitting the floor. Even with all her injuries ~~a broken wrist, black eye, split lip, fractured rib, bloody nose, various cuts around her left eyebrow~~ she wouldn't let herself loose to a newbie. So she continued fighting even though she was to the point of tears. She ended up winning, though, but she realized later that if she had just let herself fall to the floor, she wouldn't have had as many injuries as she had obtained.

As a kid, Tieve never had anybody around her. Her parents were always gone at work, making money to pay the bills and the mortgage, but they forgot to pay attention to their own daughter. She would beg them to go do family-type things, but it was always that they were busy with paperwork or blueprints and brushed her away, so Tieve eventually stopped asking and spent time in her room.

By the time she was eight, she had taught herself everything a parent should be teaching a child. She learned to braid her hair by herself. She learned to read by herself. She learned to whistle and everything else a kid should be taught to do. Tieve never complained though, believing that what was happening in her life was mutually normal and everybody had to go through it. But that didn't mean she had to like it. To try and pass through every single day she would read a book or play dress up with herself, pretending she was a fairy in a land where she wasn't alone.

When she was thirteen, she decided she had had enough of the quiet and silence that surrounded her 24/7 and set out to find a hobby; something to mix up the daily schedule of her life which only consisted of sleep, listening to music, read, and go back to bed and wish the next day was more eventful. When she had found out that there was a training center near her house in the middle-class area of District Two, she decided it would be good for her to learn some new things and set out to become a Career. Within only six months, she learned faster than her trainers expected her to, becoming averagely skilled when having been horrible in the very beginning. One of the most prestigious Careers named Kelsey saw her ability of fast learning and took a liking to her, becoming her friend within a few weeks time.

When Tieve was barely eighteen, Kelsey invited her to bare knuckle boxing - A sport where two people have a fistfight until the other goes down. With the thrill of Career training always prominent in her life, she decided to pursue it for both the thrill and the reason why Kelsey wanted her to come so bad. Turns out, her uncle was an abusive drunk, and she needed some money to support her two sisters. Tieve felt sympathy for her but also enjoyed hand to hand combat, so she agreed and followed Kelsey to her fisticuffs, betting on Kelsey and only Kelsey (and when Tieve was in the ring, vice versa), later splitting the money fifty fifty and going their separate ways, leaving them both with their hard earned money.

A short time after Kelsey introduced her to the world of bare knuckle boxing, Tieve decided she wanted to try her hand at it. In her first fight, the guy fighting her teased her for her sports bra, saying she didn't look like she belonged in a ring, but when she broke his nose and gave him a black eye, he ate his words. Even though she was nowhere even close to what Kelsey was in terms of Career, she could still pack a punch. See, Kelsey was very intelligent (like Tieve, who had grown intelligent due to all those books and Career studying) and could think quick on her feet and dodge easily, and she really could hit hard - even harder than Tieve. Tieve was more of the kind that would go directly for her opponent and try and take them down quickly.

Even though Tieve and Kelsey are best friends, she can't help but feel jealous of her sometimes. Kelsey has never lost a fight while Tieve has lost a few. In a sort of sense she looks up to Kelsey and - however cliche it may sound - wishes that she could be like her; full of wisdom, strength, power.

And of course the ability to send someone to the mat with a single punch.
