A small breeze whipped through dark red hair, almost making it dance past the petite girl. Raina sat with her feet in the water of the sea, listening to the sound of the waves. The redhead breathed in the salty air. It was soothing to her. Her parents had been arguing earlier that day over a simple thing, and it had taken all of her willpower to resist crying and instead break up the argument and get them to calm down. It was getting increasingly harder to maintain her 'perfect family.' She let a few tears spill over her eyelids as she looked out onto the oceanfront. Boats sailed in the distance, their horns calling out and leaving their ominous echoes every now and then.
"You are Raina Taylor, the best of the best, the smartest of the smart, and the most determined of the determined, and you do not cry over such petty things." The red haired girl gave a quick nod of her head, setting herself onto the right track as she decided that she was most definitely not going to let her parents split up.
Raina smiled a small, slightly fake smile and leaned back. She sprawled out in the sand, letting the water spread over her shins but not go any further. She couldn't get her skirt wet, or she would have jumped into the water and went for a swim without any further hesitation. Raina's eyes fluttered shut and and hummed at the peacefulness...
About fifteen minutes later--or, she thought fifteen minutes. More time had probably passed-- she heard footsteps coming towards her. With a small sigh she opened her eyes, not yet bothering to sit up or look to see who was disturbing her peace.
"Oh, who is it? You've already disturbed my relaxation time, and I'm lonely, so we might as well get to chatting," She said, awaiting the answer from whoever was standing beside her.
