Shelby walked through the hallway silently. The crying bundle in her arms wasn't as quiet though, and every room she passed started groaning as Kiel's crying reached each of their protesting ears. She sighed as each of the steps she stepped on groaned. Yells echoed down from the rooms upstairs, and each one made Shelby wince. She knew it was all because of her, that she didn't belong. She knew they were all because of her. A sadness grew in her, but she tried to ignore it and frantically tried to shush Kiel as she made her way out of the run down building she called home.
The wind was cool as Shelby walked down the street. The air was perfect, and helped Kiel's crying stop. It was quiet, much better than the horrible groans and yells from the other children who dispised Kiel so much. She was glad they didn't know though, didn't know her secret. Didn't know that Kiel was her son. That they were kin, she was his mother. Yes, she bringing him in after disapearing for months was suspicios but none of them ever questioned her. Happiness flooded through Shelby as Kiel finally quieted, starring at her with his cute eyes. The happiness was not only because he finally stopped, but also because no one knew. She hoped to keep it that way, so no one would ask the key question, the most important one of all.
Who is Kiel's father?
She winced, thinking about this. She didn't want anyone to ever ask her about that. She knew though someone eventually would, even if it had to be Kiel. But she dreaded that moment, and imediatly dismissed the thought so no bad memories would seep into her mind. So no memories would come from the deep cracks of her brain to haunt her...
Shelby wiped away all thoughts, and became diligent to keep walking forward as fast as possible. The golden beams of light from the early sun were shining across the sky, turning the bottoms of the blue clouds gold. It was gorgeous, especially since the boring brick buildings framing the sunrise were so dull in comparison. Shelby soon came to the part of town she wanted to be at. Walking through an alleyway, she looked around the corner to see one of the more fancier houses of the district. The black iron gate surounded the familiar house. The house was made of a brighter brick than the rest, and the roof shingles were fairly new. A green lawn was also inside of the fence, along with a small patch of blooming flowers. A woman was working in the patch of flowers, working with a small tool at the fertile soil. Shelby watched her curiously, watching the familiar hands stabbing the soil rythmically. Mind consumed on the woman and her rich house, suddenly a sound of some type of footstep brought her back. She jumped around, surprise and ardrinaline alerting her nerves and filling her muscles with energy. Even a little bit of mother protectiveness formed in her body.
(OCC: Sorry for my lack of creativity, but thats the best name i could come up with XD)
