Dont cha wish your girlfriend was hot like me
Dont cha wish your girlfriend was a freak like me
It sucked being out on her own, like really, really sucked. She hadn't really planned to be just wandering aimlessly. Obviously someone else lived in the woods - she could just get their help, right? That had always worked before for Bambi, and she couldn't quite puzzle out why it wasn't working now. Luckily she'd learned a thing or two from her more clever (and better at life) sister, and had packed a backpack with mostly food. She'd taken a knife too but other than cutting up the jerky, she had no idea what to do with it. Maybe she'd carve her name into some trees.
It occurred to her later that might be a bad idea, given that people were probably looking for her. Or not. It really depended on if Glaucia had her shit together. Whatever. She didn't want to think about her twin, or the home she had left behind. She just wanted to be warm, and full, and to not have to pee of the side of a fallen log. It was just disgusting and she really, really hoped people in the woods didn't live like that all the time.
It was getting later in the afternoon. A few days in the woods and she was beginning to be able to gauge the passing of time, which was a solid victory. Turns out the sky made pretty colors when the day was drawing to close. She'd never really noticed that before, because she scavenged for brighter colors in her day to day life, anything to mask her brown eyes, her gonzo nose. Already her hair was starting to shed the purple dye, and she'd forgotten to bring any of that sort of stuff.
So Bambi began to put flowers in her hair. She'd tried rubbing their soft petals against her head, but that had only led to several fits of sneezing. So she just wove them in now, made them a prime distraction from her yawning roots. She was picking a patch of pale blue blossoms when she heard something like talking. It could just be the wind, but she really wanted to see someone, other than a Peacekeeper. A boy would be really fabulous, but Bambi would settle for whatever.
She quickly ran her fingers through the bottom of her waist-long hair, smoothed out the edges around her face, and turned in a slow circle in the middle of the flower patch. Maybe it was just her imagination, which would be so flipping disappointing, she couldn't even stand the thought. There had to be someone, a strong knight to rescue her from the quiet woods.
