Destiny Queens
Celestials
Falling forth, the evening sun
Saying it's many goodnights
Displaying it's colourful shimmers
As it sinks below the sights,
Sinking low, the morning moon
Whispers of 'goodlight'
Casting its final silver mist
As it fades into the night,
A silent wing, a haunting howl
The animals of the night do stir
As all around them, rustling
The birds of morning were
A song of day, the hoot of night
Wings that slowly flap
The call of the feathered ones
Alert all to their perhaps,
'Good night' they hoot
'Good day' they cheep
Then they go about their business
While the others sleep,
Morning moon and evening sun
Eternal opposites, matching mirrors
Lighting the lives of those below
Making their actions clearer.

My eyes would open up from a very long sleep, making me feel very relieved of having a good nights sleep, since I haven't had any sleep for a while. I would cock my body up, scanning my eyes around my room, making sure everything is in the right spot. I would let out a sigh of relief, and I would throw my blanket off of me. I would lift my body from my bed, making my way over to my bathroom. I would put my hair back into a ponytail, and I would glare into the mirror. I would notice my outstanding brown eyes, and I would let out a cute smile to show it. I would turn on the sink in front of me, and I would start to wash my face until it is sparkling clean. I would take a brush, and comb through my ratty hair until it is smoother then fresh milk from a cow. I would smile at the final results, and walk out of the bathroom satisfied. I am ready for anything that The Capitol, my Parents, or anyone will throw at me today.
I would step into the living room, noticing my parents will still sleeping, so I decided to leave them at peace. I would make my way over to the kitchen to see If I would make myself anything to eat before I went off to school, but had no luck. I knew I could just buy a snack at a shop before I arrived at school, so I decided to start walking to the school building. I wonder what the girls will be talking about today, they always seem to throw the most interesting thing at me each day, and that is what usually keeps me occupied all the way through a school day. On my way there, I stop at a little shop to get a nice bowl of Squirrel stew. It tingled on my tongue every time I put a spoonful in my mouth. I would thank the nice lady who served me the bowl, and continued my walk to school.
I would arrive at school, being very famished from the Squirrel Stew, and I would meet up with my usual group of girls. Their names are Rachael, Sandy, and Poppy. Rachael was always the one that would gossip about every little thing that came up, and I wasn't very fond of her, but she was one of the more popular girls, so I respected her like the rest. Sandy is a full-blooded worker. She could do anything you asked her to do. She was taller then the rest of us, and was more stronger then the rest of us. Her parents were determined to get her into the Games, but it hasn't happened so far. Poppy is just like me, really quiet, really nice, didn't really have any enemies. I would reach over to the 3 of them, and I would hear them talking about some boy from a while back.
"Hey, Destiny, do you remember back when this kid named Savroche went to our school?" Rachael whispered to me. "No... Why do you ask?" I said. I actually did recall Savroche. I remember him being the "weird kid" of the school. I didn't realize how he was so weird, because he looked like an average kid to me. But when he dropped out, I think, when he was 14, I was in total shock. I was curious for about a week why he dropped out. Family Issues? Mental Disability? Suicidal Thoughts? It all ringed in my head. "Yeah, I remember him.. He was a complete nut job, right?" Sandy said. "You know it! And he still is a nut job, because I saw him a few days ago, and he's gotten uglier!" Rachael said. "What was so wrong with him? Just because he was slightly different from everyone else doesn't mean he was a "nut job." I said. I did not understand why I got so defensive of Savroche, I just felt very strongly about people talking behind other peoples backs and I knew it was wrong. I knew If I was in the same situation, I would feel terrible. "Whats your problem, Destiny? Was he your lover boy, or something?" Rachael said with a grin on her face. Oh how much I wanted to wipe that grin off her face. "No! But it is not right to be making fun of any human being, because we are all equal in our own way, Rachael! You wouldn't know that because you are a complete snob!." I yelled. I have never felt that angry towards any of my friends. They were all starstruck at me yelling at Rachael, even Poppy was. After I yelled, I blushed slightly, and stormed off.
The rest of the school day was very awkward for me. I kept thinking about the boy, Savroche, and I got back into the curiosity of why he dropped out in the first place. I got yelled at during the class where we study about The Capitol because I was daydreaming about Savroche. After school was over, I saw Rachael crying her eyes out, and I ran over to give her a tight hug. We both ended up apologizing to each other, and everything ended up alright. After school, I was very desperate to meet Savroche, and just get to know him. He seemed like a really nice guy, and I actually was attracted to him at a point in time. I just want that chance to know his life, and possibly answer some questions I have been dying to know since that day he dropped out.
I decided to wait in the Town Square, because that's where Rachael saw him. I remember some of his looks, so If I see a guy that fits those genes, then I would start up a conversation with him. I hope he isn't as nutty as everyone says he is...
