Age: Eighteen
Gender: Male
District/Area: District 8
Appearance:
Rajas has the sort of looks that come from good breeding. It's the roman nose, the heavy eyebrows, light eyes and strong chin. All of these are mixing of two strong genetic lines, brought together to make a stronger House. You can see his mother especially in his blue-green eyes, in their unsettled nature, always flipping back and forth. And you can see his father in the dark curls of his hair, almost forbidding the red of his mother's side.Personality:
At eighteen he has leaned out, put on a bit of muscle, and generally is moving in the direction of looking like a true adult. There's still some awkwardness to him, a sort of heaviness to his legs, a lightness to his arms, but all in good time. He's finally been able to grow a decent beard, and since it filled in around his mouth, he hasn't fully shaved it, despite the protestations of his mother.
Like everyone else in Eight, Rajas is reasonably well clothed. He tends to prefer heavy materials to soft ones as he absolutely hates to be cold. You'll often find Rajas in layers, even in the sweeping heat of summer. It never bothers him, and his skin is so fair that having a little more barrier is just practical. And Rajas is nothing is not practical.
Rajas epitomizes the eldest sibling, from his natural leadership to his perfectionist tendencies. It's impossible to analyze Rajas independent of his family because so much of who he is has been molded by them. Growing up in the Coldhouse demanded a certain survivalist instinct since there was no place to go, no one to turn to if you were on the outs. It wasn't that Rajas worried about being punished, per se, but rather that he hated being alone, and so he worked hard to broker peace between his siblings, to make sure no arguments were too fierce, or grudges too deep.History:
And he grew pretty good at it, at mediating, and sometimes at laying down the lay. Rajas has a steady hand, which won him the respect of his siblings, when they were old enough to realize it. While he does not especially enjoy confrontation, he will do anything for peace and harmony. Well, almost anything. As a youth he believed in his family, in the values they held close. But the sudden and violent death of his father has rocked Rajas to his core, made him reconsider his philosophy, his morality, his duty.
This have changed since then, or perhaps they were already in motion, under the surface. Rajas has yet to properly grieve for his father. Instead, he has become more out spoken as he took the helm of the Wolfe family. He's no longer afraid to counter his mother, no longer so willing to police every fight in the house. It was no doubt a surprise when he decided to leave his steady, albeit boring, job in the factory to intern at the bridal shop. It is his own sort of independence, to work where he pleases, even if Rajas realizes his decision was not made for the most pure of reasons.
But how can he say no to Jeyne?
Life was easy for Rajas, at least at first. As the firstborn and first son of the Wolfes, he was given every opportunity to excel, given the limited reach of Eight. He attended one of the better schools in the district, and was taught that the knowledge in his hands was worth more than any in books. Even as a toddler he followed his father Eddard around the home, learning and growing literally under foot. It wasn't long before he picked up his first sewing needle, before he sat at the loom. Together with his siblings, he learned to work hard.Codeword: Odair
And perhaps because they were all born in a row, and Jon thrown into the mix so early, Rajas never felt any hostility towards his siblings, only love. If he yelled at them to clean their rooms or stepped into the middle of the fight, it was all in the interest of peace and harmony. As soon as as he was allowed, Rajas began working in a local factory, bringing in a little more income for their ever-growing family.
Life was too good, too easy. And despite all he did for his siblings, for his parents, he was always waiting for darkness to descend. He just hadn't figured it would be his father. He was such a strong man, and not old enough to be considered old - certainly not old enough to die. It was a shock to everyone, but Rajas buried his feelings and took up the mantle of the family.
That is until he met Jeyne. Such a beautiful, enchanting girl, someone who truly needed him in a way his Wolfe siblings never had. They fit together, her head on his shoulder, his arm around her hips. Much to the obvious dismay of his mother, Rajas has pursued Jeyne tirelessly, even switching jobs to be closer to her. Besides a Bridal Shop is a perfectly legitimate business to be in, and the money isn't so terrible. It's not what he had been earning, as he'd been at his previous job for years, but it was enough to help out. Enough to pinch a little, to save so that he could ask Jeyne to be his forever.
