two spectacular years ~

Today, exactly two years ago, marks the date that I decided to end my social life and make an account on this site. Two years ago, we were still somewhat struggling for members. I'd like to say that the highest amount of members we had at that point was maybe fifty. Most likely less than that. I remember the fact that the cbox didn't refresh. The oldest senior members remember what it was like to constantly be refreshing that thing to see if the person you needed/wanted to talk to had responded to you. I also remember The Shop. I never got the chance to use it, I remember it went away soon after I joined, but I remember you being able to purchase things for tributes or for your own profile. I remember the sideboxes on the right, I remember the separate RP Request Cbox we had, I remember everything.

To watch this site transform from a struggling, limited-member site to a place that just hit its five THOUSAND member mark is a beautiful thing. Had I not joined this site, I don't think I would be where I am today. I would probably still be stuck at some of the one-sentence RPGs I used to partake in, I'd still probably have a social life, and I would not meet any of you people that I have met and grown on. Each and every one of you is an outstanding writer and person, and to think that I have the privilege to spend my time with you all and write with you is one of the greatest gifts I have ever been given. Undoubtedly, some of you I am a lot closer with than others, but throughout my two years it has been a marvelous experience to connect with, learn from, and laugh with all of you. You have all taught me how to laugh a little louder, and how it's okay to be weird and not normal.

And now as a Librarian, I am so glad and so privileged to be able to give back to this site what it has done for and given to me. I am very much looking forward to watching this site expand even MORE as the next movies come out and the years pass on. Each and every one of you contributes to the fantastic, incredible aura that is this site, and to watch all of you grow into yourselves and discover who you all are is such an amazing thing for me to see. The young'ns are finally entering their high school years, the older ones are finally making their entrances into college/university, and the ones in between are at last beginning to decide their futures and their dreams. And that is one thing I never expected to come out of this site for me. I never thought that I would still be here two years from now, and I never expected for all of you to grow on me. From countless Skype calls, TC sessions with what seems like half the site, awkward yet painfully amusing phone calls and texts, and the weirdest cbox conversations, all of you have placed memories in my mind and in my heart that I will never forget.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to expand and develop my writing (even though after two years it still needs a lot of work!), and thank you all for being such wonderful friends to me. You will all do and accomplish everything you wish to do, and to watch you all do it will be a great gift and the perfect privilege.
