I still haven't told mama my terrible, terrible secret. I don't know how much longer I can go around a-wearin' these baggy clothes and hidin' that little bump on my stomach. It's growin' every day, I swear, and this very mornin' I swear mama heard me bein' a-sick in the bathroom. She's growing suspicious and I need to decide every soon whether or not I'm gonna tell her, or whether I'm gonna run far from here, away.
Because every time papa's hand comes down on me I turn away, trying to keep my baby safe but maybe one day it wont be enough. Maybe one day papa will kill the baby and it will be gone.
So perfect is the baby, and so much love do I have for it's tiny features already. I cannot let them be hurtin' it; not Snow, not Panem, not papa. It's just that if I ran away from here I'd be caught and avoxed for sure.
A tear tracks down my cheek as I run my hands over my stomach slowly, subconsciously. And I have to go right outside my bedroom and onto the balcony just to let the rain wash it away.
I stand there for a moment before I see the figure standin' on the other side of the street, watchin' me.

the thought run through my mind as I wander the cold streets of district 8. Some people may wonder why some loner was wandering the streets at this time of the night, whilst other may cheer me on with a thumbs up and a pat on the back. Personally, there was no aim to my wanderings, no aim that came straight to my mind, that is. The streets were quiet except the pitter patter of rain. But I liked the sound, it was comforting. But when it soaks into the little clothes you have, soaking you to the bone… you see nothing worth being out here.

I wish of doing things I haven’t done, or exploring the world around me. the thought of earlier today washes into my mind. I feel anger, jealously cursing through my veins. All I wish is to be free from the capitols gasps. To have a happy family. A whole family. I look out at the street in front of me. My eye catches a figure on a balcony. It look lonely. Lifeless. Yu can see the sadness, regret that flows off it. I freeze in my steps, my eyes glued to the figure, an image of myself. I just stared at the figure, motionless. Feeling so strong surging through me. Ones that I wished to forget.
