I take one step outside and think, I’m going to go swimming today. The bag around my shoulder carries my huge black towel and hair bands. I adjust my blue bikini top and saunter down the road leading to the ocean. I need to swim today, the reaping was coming up very soon and I have to be in tip-top condition in case I get picked. I also have to maintain my beauty for the cameras and that includes having a toned body. I mean, I would die before the Hunger Games even began if I did not look pretty.
The sea breeze rolls in as I edge closer to the gorgeous beach. The tiny peddles of sand encase my feet as I throw my sandals off. I take off my baggy pants and bag then throw them next to my sandals. I rush towards the brilliant blue water, the breeze now stronger as I get next to the water. I stop at the edge of the water as it laps closes to my feet and take a couple steps into the sea. My feet are colder than the rest of my body but not that much. The warm spring sun had warmed it up.
I slowly take tip-toe steps into the ocean, finally reaching the waist length. 1, 2, 3.... Go! I shut my eyes as tight as they can go and engulf my body in water. The swim is incredible as I float around and do numerous swimming exercises. Miniature fish scatter as I come close to them while the seaweed waves at the bottom. I swim back to shore after a while and cover myself in the fluffy black towel, my hair leaking out water like crazy. I enjoy a quiet fight of my right toe and left toe in the sand controlled by me
I think about leaving where I am but I don’t feel like it, something in the back of my mind is telling me to stay here and wait. I do what the back of my mind wants me to and stare off into the ocean.
