A lot of people know I've had ideas stuck in my head for a wealthy, off-kilter D5 family for a while now and since a couple people have been expressing interest in contributing to my nonsense, I figured I'd let those who are interested pitch me ideas. So here's the deal:
Their parents were involved in D5's industry change to oil, so they're super rich, but the community is convinced their bizarre children are a kind of karma for their dirty money, seeing as how the oil industry is steadily killing the land and citizens of the District.RIO LYONS
(12, female)
Has an imaginary friend made of wind named Ephraim, AKA Effie. Although she likes to think of herself as being very wise and mature, bestowing life advice as though she is world-weary, the rest of the world has a difficult time seeing such traits in a child prone to crying from loneliness on windless days. However, there's no denying that she is more perceptive than most, often picking up on the emotions (or lack thereof) that her siblings try to hide. It's enough to make them begin to wonder if perhaps she really does see more than any of them are able.
PEREGRINE LYONS // TALLULAH LYONS
(14, female, Daisy and Violet Hilton FC)
They are siamese twins who are, literally, joined at the hip. Tallulah can't imagine life without her sister by her side, but Peregrine longs for a moment of solitude as if it were salvation. Although they share no major organs, just blood circulation and their hip bones, the doctor's have always said that cutting them apart would likely kill at least one of them. So, to Peregrine's perpetual disappointment, they have made their way through every single moment of life together: singing, dancing, and (when you're Peregrine) putting on more than one kind of show in an effort to find acceptance from the outside world.
SEVILLE LYONS
(16, female, unknown FC)
Throughout her sixteen years of life, Seville has never truly felt emotion. Like a living doll, she does her best to wear the correct expressions at the proper times, but there is nothing behind her smiles or tears — everything is fake, fake, fake. It's almost frustrating (although even that is something of an impossibility for her) that she isn't even scared of people finding out her secret: that she's certain she has no soul. Rio knows, because Rio always knows, and although something about that nags at Seville's thoughts, it's unable to do much more. Locking herself in her room for days at a time, she'll lay there and contemplate the meaning of her life (there doesn't seem to be one) and wonder if the hunger gnawing at her stomach or the thirst clawing at her tongue might be what desperation or longing feel like. It's not until her family breaks down her bedroom door that she goes back to "living" life... and even then, it's only because she knows she's supposed to.
DENALI LYONS
(17, female, Elvira Eriksson FC)
There is a myth of a snake that infested a pure and happy world with an apple of sin. Ever since Denali discovered that her parents are at fault for the oil industry taking up residence in District Five and ravaging the land with destruction, she hasn't been able to stop the knowledge from altering her view of life — and death. Animals, insects, and all living things seem to seek her out in their final moments, as though coming to beg the Reaper's daughter to guide them safely into the afterlife (after all, she knows she is unable to protect them in this realm). She can feel the blood of that Eden beast snake running in her veins and treats her compassion for these dying creatures as a kind of atonement. Knowing that the wealth that gives her a life in "Paradise" is wrong doesn't stop her from loving her family, but there is a bitter spark of rebellion in her nonetheless. She would gladly be a martyr for righteousness... if only she could do so without bringing her siblings down with her.
ZION LYONS
(17, male, Luke Smithers FC)
He thinks he's a sin eater for the awful things people say about his family, gathering up their insulting words in his mind (as though they will cease to exist then) until they begin to rot and fester. Denali told him the true reasons for the rumors and he wishes he didn't know, longing for the days of ignorance when he could enjoy his wealthy, privileged life without guilt. Those days are gone, however, and have quite literally been replaced with nights of terror. No sleep walking can get him away from the haunting visions in his sleeping mind, but his unconscious body tries anyway, pulling him from his bed and sending him on escape missions for the Sandman. He would happily take the night terrors if they really did contain all the hardships of his family, but the thing that bothers him most is knowing they don't. It is selfishness that causes him to long for his own suffering; it's his sibling's hardships that are truly difficult to take.
Yeah, all the above characters are indeed mine, which is a little ridiculous and excessive, I knowwww, but my muse for this family cannot be tamed. If you want a Lyons sibling, you're gonna have to come up with your own ideas, lol, because I'm feeling greedy and selfish with them right now. XD Also, I'm aiming for odd more than crazy, and am more interested in their relationship dynamics than I even am in their quirks.
Sharing is caring. Now you know. :P
