PANDER-ORLOFSKY FINISHING SCHOOL
There are many places for an aspiring career to train in District 2, of course. Most are secret gyms or training centers masquerading as extracurricular activities, in order to avoid detection of the Capitol, even though they are certainly well aware of Careers at this point and don't seem to care that much. Two men, however, were dissatisfied with the training options available to their children. After all, how were the potential tributes of District 2 going to become Victors if they had to split their attention between training and the everyday life of a teenager?
It was for this reason that Lionel Pander and Kert Orlofsky bought an abandoned warehouse near the district fence and fashioned it into a full time boarding school.
The school opened about fifteen years ago, and the two tributes that it has sent both won their games. It is not a household name, of course, but in some of the most intense career circles in District 2, most people have at least heard of POFS. It houses 24 students a year, from ages 12 to 18, of course. Under the instruction of Pander and Orlofsky themselves, in addition to a few other teachers that have been hired over the years, the teenagers undergo rigorous training, from conventional weapons training to more unorthodox methods, such as starvation training and performing mentally straining tasks while exposed to the elements to encourage mental acuity. They strenuously study each Hunger Games as it happens in addition to recordings of past Games, critiquing each tribute's performance. In addition to this, ex-stylists and mentors coach them on how to present themselves during prep week. The students are trained for every possible facet of the Games, should they be reaped.
The students are sorted into two groups when they are admitted into POFS: those that focus more on survival skills, and those that focus more on combat. Orlofsky is the primary trainer for the former, and Pander for the latter. Everyone is trained in both skills, of course; they simply learn more about their perceived strengths so they can develop an airtight strategy for survival in the Games.
The final exam every year is a simulated Games that takes place beyond the fence. Each student is assigned a district and must use all their skills that they have learned. However, instead of letting the students die, each one is given a flare that they are to light if they give up or if their wounds become too severe to realistically continue. The first twelve to light this flare are sent home, while the other twelve are ranked based on their placement and allowed to stay for an additional year. Pander and Orlofsky then meet each new prospective student in person and admit the twelve that they believe merit entrance into their school.
Only the most ruthless can make it here. Could you survive this school for violence?
((So yeah, this is a plot that I've had in my head for quite some time, and I figure I'd try it out here. Are people interested? Is it allowed? Is the concept of a sim!games all right? I hope so, because I really do like this idea. D:))
