Naam, F, 20 — I love God. I hate humans, though. In fact, I really hate humans. Hey God, if You don't dump another plague down here soon I'm going to round up some of these blasphemers for You, 'kay?
Dor, M, 18-19, Devin — God, I know You help those who help themselves, but I could really use some help getting food on the table today—Naam, do you need something? Is He hearing me?
Yaron, F, 17, WT — You want me to find God? That's fine, but I'm happy without him. No, really, I'm okay with being the atheist misfit if it means I get to be myself. Better than being part of this madhouse.
Tabil, M, 15, WT — I have my doubts, and I always have, but I'm happiest with God, so that's where I'm staying. If only my family would be happy, too... I think it will all work out, but sometimes I worry.
Shrol, M, 13-14, Meg — ALL YOU NEED IS LOOOOOVE, LOVE, LOVE. Lol maturity what? I AM MUSICAL. STOP SAYING I'M OFF-KEY. D:
Rivik, F, 11, GxK — I am so sorry for my family. Half of them are crazy and the other half get crazy when they're around each other. Want something to drink?
Natan, M, 11, Sky — Riv, why are you inviting strangers in ag—oh, hi I'm Natan I'll be going to find a book now bye.
Unclaimed: Naam, Dor
For some time now, I've been playing with the idea of a religious character. A few days ago I ended up with Tabil, which was fine and dandy. Once his bio was done, though, Yaron started yabbering, so I gave her a bio too. Then suddenly I had ideas for Naam and Dor, and I somehow knew that the youngest two were twins, and I knew I was in trouble. -_- Please, someone, anyone, take the remaining five so that I'm not tempted to.
INFO DUMP TIME. :D
I have put way too much freaking time and brain energy into these people.
The family is, as is probably obvious, dysfunctional liekwoah. Tabil and Riv are probably the only two who turned out like the parents (mother 48 years, father 50) planned. It's mostly their own fault, though. Mama Raidan has been cheating on her husband since shortly after Naam was born; he figured it out when Tabil was one year old. They've been fighting ever since. (At least one child is someone else's baby, but I'm not sure which.) Mr. Raidan also started drinking soon afterward, which plunged the already-struggling family pretty firmly into poverty. (And then they kept. having. children. Why, you people.) Because of this, everyone but Naam and Dor have to wear hand-me-downs, and everyone except the twins is working somewhere. (Tabil weaves or something in a factory, and Yaron works with sheep on a wool farm.)
Rivik and Tabil are the only ones Yaron speaks to anymore unless she has no choice. Naam moved out briefly when she turned 19, but returned to the family three months later because "You lot are the only ones who even almost have a clue. Don't worry, I'll only stay until they all get sorted out." Dor would leave, but he stays because Naam does. He sorta hero worships her (he thinks God speaks to her; incidentally, Naam doesn't hear voices, she just makes a lot of assumptions about what her deity wants and talks to him like most people talk to themselves). Natan has strong opinions but is horribly skittish because, unbeknownst to everyone but Riv, Mr. Raidan sometimes beats the poor kid while drunk; also, as the youngest and smallest, he tends to get shoved around a lot in general.
Tabil and Shrol share a room, at least in part because Shrol would annoy the living shit out of anyone else. Yaron used to share with Naam and Dor, but started sleeping on the couch after the blow-up that splintered her relationships with most of the family; she's currently looking for her own place. Rivik and Natan also share. The house has one and a half bathrooms, which makes mornings interesting sometimes. It's a wonder a single room in the house still stands; the Raidans are flat broke and can't repair pretty much anything unless they fix it themselves. Which... no one really can. Dor and Mrs. Raidan try to keep everything in order, but they aren't overly good at it, so there are always financial ends that haven't been tied down or meals that get forgotten or broken things that go unfixed because no one is sure what to do about them.
The parents, and all the kids except Yaron and maybe Riv (I think Riv's sort of agnostic about everything?), are... I'm not totally sure. They're loosely Christian, but everything about their faith is fuzzy, since they don't have any holy books and pass everything down orally. Whatever they are, they're very quiet about it outside the family, because banned.
AND THIS IS WHY I ASK FOR OTHER PEOPLE TO PLEASE TAKE THEM. D8 All this thought, it is going to translate into biography format if I'm not careful.
