Switched at Birth! (D2 Family Plot)

When she was seventeen years old, Estelle Jondrow became pregnant with a baby girl. It was that year that her name was called in the Reaping. Fortunately for Estelle, she lived in a career district and there were volunteers to take her place. She happily conceded to them and stepped down so that she could stay at home and give birth quietly.

But the stress of the Reaping caused Estelle to go into early labor, and when the baby was born, the doctors told her that it just wasn't strong enough to make it. The baby was dead.

A year later she married her husband Carroll Jondrow and after another nine years, their second child (Korey) was born. They have never told him about the birth of his sister, and he has no idea that skeletons lurk in the family closet.

Characters:

Estelle Jondrow, 42, F -- Extremely sweet and loving in demeanor, a bit overbearing, the kind of mother who prefers her son to be tied to her apron strings all the time, not willing to let go. Friendly to just about everyone. The type of mother who talks all the time about her son, but never about her daughter who died at birth. Hasn't spoken about the stillbirth since it happened. Just a bit crazy. Madly terrified of the Games. Secretly blames the Capitol for what happened to her baby. Harbors an unspoken, burning desire to see the end of President Snow and the entire government. Closet anarchist or republican (your choice). Works in the mines or quarries (your choice). Has a penchant for art but hides her talent under a bush. Brother taught her sculpture but really loves to paint.

Too much information! I'm flexible on some of this!

Carroll Jondrow, 47, M -- Gruff, rough. Long ago accepted the way that life was in all of the districts. Appreciates hard work and a little bit of hunger and would live poor and work poor even though he doesn't have to. Raised his son to have the same attitude as he does and is willing to overlook Korey's faults because he knows they'll never have another child and believes that Korey is their second chance. Like Estelle, never talks about the past, their lost daughter. Prefers to fight what he believes happened and submit to the Capitol instead of fighting against what he knows he can't beat. Carroll, tough though he is, is already beaten.

Korey Jondrow, 15, M [devin] -- See bio

Unnamed, 25, F -- Stolen at birth when Estelle Jondrow was thirty-our weeks pregnant and went into early labor. Sold to the highest bidder.

Unnamed's Mother (same last name please!), 49, F -- Childless and wanted control more than children, needed a child in order to live up to expectations. Bought a child from a corrupt midwife.

Unnamed's Father (same last name please!), 54, M -- Whipped. Does whatever his wife wants. A bit of a girly-man.

Corrupt Midwife (age and gender nego) -- Money hungry. Grabby. Dying. Life is leaving her/him. Needs to purge the guilt of the past. Willing to reach out to the Jondrow family. May fail or may not.

The idea here is that Korey (mine) may actually know his biological sister even though he has no idea of her existence of all. Maybe they become friends before the truth comes out or... something. I'm open to suggestions, but I think that this could be a lot of fun.

I'm not sure whether or not I'm going to activity check Korey for the reaping yet. I need to know what others are thinking.
