CHOLE CORBY
Death row.Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
You been out ridin' fences for so long now
Oh, you're a hard one
I know that you got your reasons
These things that are pleasin' you
Can hurt you somehow
Sound foreign, huh… but really, this whole time this is what she had been groomed to do. So is this what it felt like to a criminal who had committed a crime so bad, that their justice was death. They knew death was coming so they live in fear until that time… Was it going to hurt? Will it be painless? Will she just float away, feel nothing…? Will she be missed? The last thought is really what choked her up. No one wanted to be forgotten… but how could anything be any worse than the pain she was in… It wasn’t the physical wounds that hurt the most though… to her they were just part of life, her pathway to heaven… what hurt most was her broken heart. So many thoughts congested her, dragging her away from the place where her body lay broken and tangled on the ground.
Her heart snapped in her chest as she reminded herself that she had let her family down… that she had just turned a blind eyes on them… how were they to survive without her? Would Jerrome take care of Saskia? Or would he just sink away, leaving her to fend for herself. Warm salty tears formed in her eyes, before spilling out, landing on the sand in which she lay on. They form a distraught shape on the ground. A broken heart She turned her head away from the shape on the ground, it only brought more pain. This was a new pain to her. She had never felt anything like it. She had never thought that she would have to experience someone ripping her heart out of her chest, taking away the memories of the people she loved. Of the people she had called her family…
Haff…. How was he going to survive without me? Chole remembered him coming back for her… he had tried, but in the end it was too dangerous for him to stick around any longer…But her had tried… he tried to help me, he tried to protect me… There has only been one other person who had risked their life for me…. The lady I had called my mother. She had saved me…
Desperado, oh, you ain't gettin' no younger
Your pain and your hunger, they're drivin' you home
And freedom, oh freedom well, that's just some people talkin'
Your prison is walking through this world all alone
[/i]Your pain and your hunger, they're drivin' you home

“Why? Why did you care for me? I was as good as dead? Why did you not let me die? I deserved to die…. After my entire mother didn’t give a rat’s ass… Obviously I have no value… I am use less; I just get in the way… I’ll make you miserable, and you will regret the day that you had taken me under your wing… Like everyone else in my life did. Just check me to the side, like rubbish. Get bored then throw away… it will happen to you to you now.” I had told her as she placed a wet cloth on my forehead. Her eyes had been warm and friendly… they were also filled with something else that I had never seen in my old mothers eyes. Love.
“You are not useless. How could I have just let you die out there? When you have a chance to live the life. be happy… I may not be able to bring that to you yet…. But as life goes on you will find your purpose. Everyone has a purpose, sweetheart, and trust me, I’m sure yours will be to bring happiness to those who need it…” She had told me, her voice had been filled with passion nad hope as every word had fell from her mouth, and for a moment I had felt like maybe she was right… maybe I did have a true purpose.
[/color]For that moment she had believed that there was a purpose for her on this world… but really could her purpose be to die in an arena, filled with other children fighting to the death? Or was it that the capitol had just stopped her from fulfilling her real destiny in life… But that lady had been the only other person to try and save her… give her hope. Haff had tried his best… Just him being there had filled her with hope… but now? Now the hope of her living to see one more sunrise, to see her family happy faces once more, they were all gone… She would be lucky if she made it til sunset, just to have one more night under the dying sun…
Don't your feet get cold in the winter time?
The sky won't snow and the sun won't shine
It's hard to tell the night time from the day
You're losin' all your highs and lows
Ain't it funny how the feeling goes away?
The sky won't snow and the sun won't shine
It's hard to tell the night time from the day
You're losin' all your highs and lows
Ain't it funny how the feeling goes away?
Chole was slowly brought back to reality, and the pain that now slowly began to ease, as a cold chill spread throughout her. At first the chill that ran through her body had been frightening, as she realised that it was her time to leave the world, that it was time for her to finally leave behind everything… but after a couple of moments the chills became soothing… sort of like a quiet lullaby that flow through out. Soon her whole body seemed to radiated with this quiet chill. She lay her head down on the sandy ground, letting her tears and blood mingle with the sand and become one. She was ready to go. She was ready to finally be free… free from the world which had held her in its clutches for so long… maybe this was her purpose… maybe her purpose was to be in another life, where she could look over and take care and guide the people that filled her heart, that made her the person who she really is…
But was the capitol really ready to let her go? Was she ever going to get her happy ending? Or would her should linger here, e=remembering the last moments of her life… when she had gone from a girl who would never hurt a fly, to a girl who had been willing to kill another person if it meant her living… could she ever really be free?
Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
Come down from your fences, open the gate
It may be rainin', but there's a rainbow above you
You better let somebody love you, before it's too late
Come down from your fences, open the gate
It may be rainin', but there's a rainbow above you
You better let somebody love you, before it's too late
