You know when you feel like you don't want to do something, yet you do? That's how I feel right now. I only became a Career to protect my brother. Right now, when I could be fishing, I'm walking to the Career Training Center. I open the door and look around, it's not too busy. So I stride right on in. I catch eye of the trident station, naturally. Then I find my legs taking me over.
I admit, it is sort of fun to be a Career, you get to handle blades of course! It's time consuming, and difficult, but it's worth it, I guess. I pick up a trident, then hurl it straight at a rubber dummy's head. It makes contact with the neck and the whole circular ball atop the thing just gets sliced off. I admire my work and move on.
I spot the throwing knives station. Hmmm I think, I've never tried that. So, obviously, my feet carry me there as well. I gently pick up a throwing knife and flick it at a water balloon pinned on a cloth hanging on the wall. There was a bin on the ground beneath it so that the red water wouldn't get all over the floor. But the red liquid never came out, balloon never budging. Because I didn't hit it. I pick up 2 more, 3 more, 4 more. None of them hit. So I say to myself, "Ok, one more, then I'm leaving." So I picked up my throwing knife and flicked it at the red-filled balloon. A satisfying Splash! was heard by me when the knife hit the balloon. "Yes!" I shouted, "I finally hit it!" I put the knife back and walked off again.
I saw another kid at one of the stations. I walked over to them casually, trying to be friendly. "Hi there," I say cooly, "Who're you?"
