Suspicious; Monroe always narrows her eyes and studies those around her, constantly. From a young age she learned that she could be tossed off and abandoned at the tip of the hat; as if she were constantly trying to figure out if she were living day to day in the Hunger Games. Not a moment passes that her mind is stepping three stones ahead of the rest, figuring out the violent motives that everyone must be feeling, because that's all she's ever known. There's a shield in her eyes that shows exactly how much darkness this woman has been shown and how little kindness. Monroe is the sort to shoot, fight, kill first, and ask questions when there's no one left breathing to answer. Not only that, but she'd rather murder someone before accept charity from them; Pride is a down fall of Monroe's developed over always taking care of herself and no one else.
Despite her flaws, Monroe is a genuine survivor, extremely strong willed and independent with wisdom far beyond her years. The woman knows how to feed herself, take someone's life, flit damn near anywhere managing to stay (almost) under the radar and when she has to serve Detention time of some sort ... she's the sort to serve her time, but there is nothing submissive about her attitude as she does it. If nothing else, despite her suspicious of the world and it's population, she demands a respect with the way she carries herself. And not once in her life as she ever considered herself a victim, more so ... she wonders how she can make others her victim if necessary. Monroe is not kind or warm-hearted, she wouldn't even know what that was were she asked. Nor is she intentionally cruel, children never even make it into her vision --- Though they may have faulty intentions, Monroe's mind could never handle taking a small child's life or causing them harm, somewhere in her mind passed all the hate and rage, all the mind-effed emotions, paranoia ... she remembers being the child who hid from people like herself.
In the end, Monroe has never been genuinely loved, never been treated with kindness or affection, and in turn turned cold-hearted, violent, and paranoid in some major ways. The best thing to recall when thinking of Monroe? She is not the weak willed and will destroy those who attempt to take away her choices for herself. Freedom is what she's spent her entire life seeking out, as well as revenge for the loss of a life she could never even understand. Her mind works quickly, almost too quickly when it comes to certain situations. She is never cautious and if she's told No she does it anyway. If she's told wait, she forges forward, and if she's told hurry, the woman will stand still as stone. Controlling her own mind and body is her one true obsession .. if one were to find a way to let her guard fall, they'd be one in a trillion because for Monroe Axton, she's spent eighteen years of her life, unloved and fighting for herself ... Who could compete with such experiences?
HER HISTORY IN BLACK AND WHITE
In the beginning, as in the first two and a half years of her life, Monroe Axton was a beloved little girl of two parents and an older brother (four years her senior). She was a bouncing baby girl with the whole world ahead of her in District Six. The promise of an education, a caring family, and at least enough food to almost keep a family alive; the young one couldn't ask for anything more. But somewhere between her birth and first birthday her parents became traitors to the Capitol. (Various reasons were given over the years, none of them legitimate and Monroe still seeks out answers.) They were made Avox's, they were dead within months. Speculation from the twenty year old says her parents killed themselves with stolen Nightlock pills because they were afraid, they thought that being forced into Avox servitude is what did them in, they couldn't take it. But in her heart, wherever it may be within her chest, Monroe is fully aware that her parents must have done far more than steal or lie to the Capitol, that they weren't suicidal, that their deaths weren't at their own hand. But if she thinks too hard, the rage begins to turn her vision red, and then control slips from her mind; And losing control simply is never alright in the life she lives.
As happens with orphaned children of Panem, the two were placed in one of the few Community Homes for Children in District 6. For a short time they were kept in the same housing unit, the first time in their lives having their own bed to sleep in. However, more often than not Felix would awaken to his baby sister curling up between him and the wall; He'd always pull her close, kiss her forehead, sing a soft lullaby, and the two would drift off to sleep until the next morning. Being caught out of bed was one thing, being caught in the same bed was another, and generally their breakfast was withheld from the two before they were shuttled off to whatever schooling had been designated on their schedule that day. As they grew, their tendency to break rules became more intense, punishments of little food or being locked up for a day or two were constant. And rarely did either of them ever speak to anyone but each other. And then came Felix's first year being put in the Reaping. The night before the two sat together for hours into the night, talking and putting together a small tattoo gun, permanently inking an anchor on the side of their right hands, a reminder that they would never faulter from one another; brother and sister, blood no matter what could possibly happen. Never in a million years did the young Monroe believe that the only person she had left could be taken from her his first time being tossed into the big glass ball they'd grown up fearing. But Felix was drawn, he was ripped from her arms, their eyes connecting one last time as he held his arm in the air, just so she might see the impression on his flesh that matched her own. On day three he was murdered by someone from District 11. Monroe watched her brother's life drain from his eyes on the big Panem Big Screen, blood pooling around his eyes as he stared straight into the nearest camera, his right hand turning so that mark was revealed. And that was the moment something in Monroe slipped away; the ability to truly know what it was like to matter to anyone. If he had loved me right, he would've made it back. Would've won. And such is the thought process that has been keeping her alive ever since.
Upon Felix's death, the Capitol flew his baby sister, one mentioned in his many interviews, to their nicest facility for children; fed and clothed her, tried to tame the wild child who wouldn't even allow someone to comb her hair. They trained her, educated her, and provided her with anything a young one could ever need until she reached an age where she was fully capable of caring for herself. Well, an age that the Capitol found appropriate to attempt to use her. But rather than become a Capitol Brat trained to murder in an arena for entertainment, Monroe refuses to kill for sport. She kills for pity, for safety, for defense ... Never because it could entertain. Whenever someone dares look her straight in the eyes her soul is bared right before them, so raw and real no one can look for very long without ache pulsing throughout their entire beings. Her brother's death has never been in vain though part of her has always thought that to be the case. If it were in vain, though, Monroe would never have grown as strong as she is.
One day, there may very well be a man or woman who could touch Monroe's heart. Someone she doesn't believe is out to rape, abuse, or murder her whenever her guard is down. Perhaps, but that day is not today. She survived the Reaping each and every year, and now she is surviving day to day life as if she's been playing in the Hunger Games each and every day rather than watching it on the big screen. She works odd jobs, even going as far as a hit-man on occasion, but, for the most part, she spends her days reminding herself that food is something she needs not a dream.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FRIENDS . FRIENDS . FRIENDS . FRIENDS . FRIENDS
Throughout the years Monroe has met a few kind people here and there, and murdered them because she was convinced that their intentions were as ugly inside as everyone around her had always shown on the outside. It never made sense for her to just trust what anyone said to her, that always sounded preposterous to her to begin with. To be her friend is to know that she may kill you at any second and love her, stand by her regardless.
LOVERS . LOVERS . LOVERS . LOVERS . LOVERS
Ms. Monroe Axton is a virgin. Sexual activity has never been something she considered, nor has being in love or a even being a mother. Her entire life has been based around surviving and revenge, though who exactly will fall to her revenge is never known. If there was a man who could make her fall in love, he'd have to be the strongest around, with a thick skin to deal with the mind of Monroe. The last form of affection or love she received was at the age of eight years old before her brother was reaped and murdered. If you dare love this woman, best have the ability to prove it on a constant basis or she'll never trust or believe it. Because such emotions are completely foreign.
ENEMIES . ENEMIES . ENEMIES . ENEMIES . ENEMIES
Of these the twenty year old beauty has many. They dominate her world and have been taunting her skills from the moment they began taking her family away. In her mind, everyone starts out as an enemy and comes out a body. Enemies for her are people she does not have to keep close, she can sense their intentions before they think them ... three steps ahead and always ready for the fight that they bring. If you want to fight this woman, be prepared beyond words or you'll come out without a heartbeat.
