Hello!
From previously chatting on the Cbox, I have aqquired that a lot of people on this site have/ride/love horses. I am glad to say that I am one of them! I though that this could be a thread where we can share pictures and just chat about horses. So, I'll start!
I started riding when I was 6, but all I wanted to do is be with the horse, I had no interest whatsoever in learning how to ride, so my mom pulled me out. I was too young to notice that we kept skipping over lessons, but I always wondered when my next one was. I gave up on the idea that I had lessons.
Many years later.. when my mother's friend's daughter had a birthday party at the barn I took lessons at. The minute I stepped into that barn I knew I wanted to take lessons again. My mom kept putting it off in fear that I would repeat the same thing as I did when I was younger.
Then, my lesson teacher called me and asked if I wanted to come to her horse camp. I was so excited! I loved it! It was great. That was in late June. It took until October to convince my mom to let me start back up again, and it was all worth it! By then, the horse I rode before was gone, but there were new horses that I loved. They are the horses that are at the barn today! I have now been riding for a few years and I can ride English, Western, and I just recently started jumping, which I will talk about later. I can do all the gates, including walk, trot, canter, gallop and one of the horses is a Tennessee walker, so he raques>or how ever you spell it. I call my instructor(who has now become more of a riding buddy) Sissy btw.
This is Sundance. He is a Tennessee Walker. He is a six-year old Gelding. He is playful and very pretty. Sissy birthed him and has raised him ever since. He likes to nudge and rub on you and he is very fun to lunge and ride. I usually only ride him on bareback or lunge him because Sissy wants his raque to really set in good before he learns to trot. And since he is very young and playful, it takes a rider with years of experience with horses like him to canter him. He rears sometimes as well because he gets too excited and he will buck like crazy if there is a horse fly! I love Sundance because he really acts like the little baby, even though he is the biggest horse in the barn.
Playing in the snow<3
This is Rocky. He is a gelding, I am not sure how old he is, but I know he is older than Sundance. He is the alpha in the herd, even though he is the smallest horse in the barn. I usually ride him on trails, in the barn, everywhere really because you can do everything on him. We are just recently teaching him how to jump. Sometimes on the trails he jumps over ditches and logs in the road, so my hope is that we can make him a cross country horse. He is very stubborn and loves to test you. He is a gorgeous horse with a big attitude. When you tighten the saddle he throws his head and sometimes nips. His previous owners abused him and he has a nick in his ear from getting it stuck in a barbed wire fence. He is definitely the horse I spend most of my time with. I like him because he is a challenge and my best friend. I learned to trot, canter, and gallop on him. Also just a few days ago we lunged him over jumps (little ones) and when I got on him he did jump, but he did hops and reared once or twice. When he really doesn't want to do something he tries his hardest to get out of it, but that's why I love Rocky! He is probably my favorite horse.
This is Topsy. She is a great mare! Again, I don't know how old she is, but she is getting pretty old. You can do ANYTHING to her. I swear! This one time I was riding her in a storm and I got sawdust in my eye and couldn't see, and she just rode it out. She never spooks and you can like cling to her and she will let you. She is a great and calm horse and I rode her first. I love Topsy too, and she is the favorite of all the little kids and she is a fantastic horse. You can trot her and canter her, but not for very long when we are on her anyway. She is close to retiring from lessons and just be a barn horse. She loves anyone who takes the time to pet her. It's funny though, after everyone's lessons we give them treats. So Topsy, knowing she should get a treat, she will kick the stall door until she gets one. LOL it is loud, but that is the only thing that is bad that she does<3
Here are some more pics:
^^ Rock and Sundance running in the field.

Thank you for checking this out, and I can't wait to see other peoples horses and horse stories!<3
