An Interview With Plutarch Heavensbee

Our very own Vladimir Romanoff got the opportunity to sit down and talk with Head Gamemaker, Plutarch Heavensbee to find out what he has up his sleeve for the 75th Annual Hunger Games or our third Querterquell. Here are the results of that conversation.

Vladimir: So Mr. Heavensbee, first year as the Head Gamemaker after replacing Senneca Crane. How do you feel knowing it is now your responsibility to make a great Quarterquell?

Plutarch: Well it is a great honor. I was never more excited than when President Snow approached me with the Head Gamemaker position. Immediately the creative gears began to turn in my head.

Vladimir: So you already have a foundation for the Quarterquell?

Plutarch: Indeed, my fellow Gamemakers and I have been hard at work and have created something quite special for the Quarterquell tributes. I am not allowed to say much on the subject but I will say it is going to be something unique. Even the reaping is going to be special.

Vladimir: Do you see yourself being a multi year Gamemaker as Senneca was?

Plutarch: I think so, that is of course if the President and the citizens of Panem enjoy my work.

Vladimir: Which District do you think has the best chance of winning in your arena?

Plutarch: It is hard to say after the 74th Hunger Games. I mean Katniss and Peeta were from District 12, outlying Districts rarely win and they proved to us that they could go the distance; I mean they have only had three victors in twenty-four years. Another surprise could come from the outlying Districts, but as always Districts 1 and 2 have the best chance every year due to their athleticism. Nevertheless, changes for the Quarterquell could really shake things up.

Vladimir: Will there be any more surprise rule changes such as the double victors rule in the 74th?

Plutarch: I will say yes, but not during the games. Instead, the rules will change during the reapings and only for this Quarterquell, after the 75th Hunger Games are over the rules will go back to normal. I wish I could tell you more but you will just have to wait and be surprised.
