Zakery Mason Schoepf District One Peace Keeper

Zakery is one of those few people in the world who is seen frequently as attractive just because of his high self confidence. Often flirted with by what seems like every girl, Zakery has hot shot looks but he cannot hold down any of those relationships to save his life. He says that his looks are to blame, but how far that actually affects his relationships is up to the interpretation of those around him.

He has short, spiked blonde hair that is almost the color of sand. It is covered with a baseball cap that is backwards any time that he is outside of school or work.

His skin is normally pale but due to the fact that he loves to run, it has tanned to a medium complexion. He has a birthmark above his right eye that is slightly redder than the rest of his face. He also has two main scars on his face. The first is a small cut between his eyebrows that happened when he was climbing a tree when was about six. The second is a small, almost non-existent shadow of a scar on his left cheek. It was from when he fell at school when he was ten, and had a pencil nearly go through his cheek.

His eye brows are well kept and are over top of a handsome pair of crystal blue eyes. His fair eyes cause him to sneeze when he goes out into the sun most days, so he always has sunglasses on or within arms reach. The sneezing, which the doctor says is quite common comes from the fact his eyes cannot adjust to the rapid change in light and thus his body forces him to close them by well, sneezing.When he was little he used to put the sunglasses on the top of his head or hanging by one arm on his shirt but after being called a few obscene names he decided it wasn't worth it to him to have the extra hand or table space free.

Zak's nose and mouth are perfectly symmetrical and sit at the level of his balanced cheek bones. He has very light acne, which basically means he has none but does get an occasional pimple. This has led some people to try to imitate how he gets rid of acne but it never seems to work. He says it's courtesy of really great genetics but he could never know for sure.

His neck has protruding veins that come out even more during strenuous labor. His neck leads down to a well muscled chest and back. With his hobby of doing pull-ups on tree branches, muscles protrude in his arms and torso. His arms have one tattoo on each, which set him apart from most people of his District. The first, on his left shoulder in a Celtic knot that is in the shape of a shamrock. The black knot, which takes up the top half, is a solid black strip that has a green background tint. The second tattoo on his right shoulder takes up his whole upper arm and is a ancient gang symbol of the Irish Mafia. He didn't know much about the history before Panem but in his research he found the picture and fell in love with it. Black lines have the foreground while the surrounding area has orange, white, and green.

Moving down to his legs, the muscles are slightly bulging from all of the running that he does but are more sculpted. On the back of his left shin is a third and final tattoo that is only black and white. It is a cross with a pair of hands praying over it. On the hands there is a small mushroom that was on his father's hands. Over top is a scroll that reads, "In Memory of My Dad." This tattoo is in honor of his father who was a killed from an alcohol overdose after he returned home from the Games a victor. He couldn't cope with the trauma.

As for Zak's clothes, he can be commonly seen in a muscle shirt in various colors that is sometimes covered in a hoodie. As for pants, he wears jeans with deep cargo pockets most of the time. He wears simple sneakers on his feet, which if he is going running get changed into running sneakers.

As a whole, Zak is about 6'5" and weighs about 200lbs grand total.

Zakery is a generally happy person. He loves life and everything that it entails. However happy he may seem, Zak has two main personality flaws that make him truly who he is. Zak is first and foremost a narcissist. His ego is completely obsessive and he thinks that the world was made to love him. It may seem shallow, and most of the time it is, but there is still a charm that goes with his self confidence, however exaggerated it may be.

His second flaw is the fact that ever since his father's death two years ago, Zak has had flirting thoughts of suicide. Now this might be a little odd, since he is happy most of the time but in the few times he is alone, he thinks about it. This need to be around other people led to a need to constantly flirt and have relationships with every girl in the District.

Another flaw, that he doesn't even see much as a flaw is his anger. Well anger isn't exactly the word when he gets frustrated, more like, burning passion of hatred. It takes alot to get Zak angry, being that he is basically mild mannered, but when someone does push him over the edge, he FLIPS! Smashing things, breaking windows, and even putting holes in the wall all seem to come into the territory. Granted, he only ever went over the edge twice, once when his father pushed him over and once when he caught his friend Dimitri trying to hurt Sarah, his little sister like figure. Needless to say that did NOT end well at all. Dimitri ended up in the hospital for six weeks of concussions and hemmoraging caused by trauma induced ATP. Ever since that day, Zak has worked hard to maintain his temper, even when truly stressed.

However many flaws there may be, Zak still has a huge amount of great characteristics. First off, he loves little kids. Every time he is around them he can't help but think that he wants one or more of his own. Secondly, he can't help but try and help those who are less fortunate than himself. Being held at lower standards because his father was a drunkard, Zakery is also very outgoing. He always got top grades in his school and in an effort to not end up working in a common job he signed up for the Peace Keeper job the second he graduated high school. This outgoing nature has been passed on to just about anyone who meets him.

Zakery has a few main fears that cause him to worry from time to time. The first and foremost is the fear of freezing to death. This came out of no where, but he cannot get over it to save his life. So every year when it comes time for winter, he becomes irritable and tries to do everything in his power to avoid thinking about it. He generally tries to stay by those he trusts in the week or so before the first snow fall so he can calm down. Though this is one of his most paralyzing fears, he hids it quite well.

His second fear is the fear of getting tortured. Being a Peace Keeper you wouldn't think torture would be something he is afraid of, and he isn't, unless he thinks about someone torturing him. Then he goes back into the depth of his mind, trying to think about why he would never get tortured. His number one answer, "Zak, you are a Peace Keeper, the tormentor, not the tormented. Man up and stop acting like a girl."

Zak's third and final fear is that of drowning. He has this fear because he was almost killed in water as a small child and he has since been afraid of being too far under the water. He doesn't have to worry too much about the fear of water though because he is not a member of District Four, however there still is the occasional pool that is more than ten feet deep in District One and those are the ones he can't be near.

Zakery is also very protective of those he loves and will die for any of them. Not wanting to seem like a 'sap,' he tries to stay as non-chalant about people getting hurt as possible, but when it comes to someone like Sarah or Dimitri, poeple whom he grew up with, the sky is the limit for what he will do for them.

Zakery also had a hidden talent that he doesn't like to share, his love of math. Coming from a district generally reffered to as the 'Spoiled District' no one would think he would be enjoying time at school. Really, however, he loves math and spends time each night praticing because you never know quite when math will come in handy.

Other than that Zak is basically just a normal X-Career who was never chosen and went into the Peace Keeper business.

Zak was born to Collet and Luis Schoepf, his father, a victor from the 27th Hunger Games, was a respectable Career in his day. He married his childhood sweetheart, Collet who was the second youngest child in an upper class family of six children. She was the rebellious one, but when she married a victor, her family couldn't have been happier.

After Luis returned from the Games, and married, he began to try and cope with the horrible nightmares that came with the victory. He tried writing, fighting, and just about every other hobby he could think of to no avail and still woke in the night of nightmares of the terrible deaths. About a year after Zak's birth, Luis turned to drinking in an effort to cope. He did cope, but at the same time he had other side effects.

Luis became violent, becoming a wife batterer and screaming at the infant Zak until he lost his voice. This traumatized Zak, and he spent the next 15 years trying to vie for his father's approval. This was a lost cause, however, because his father didn't care.

When Zak was five, his mother finally got the courage to leave the house of her oppressor and divorce Luis. This devastated Zak, causing him to go into a stress induced gluttony which cause him to have a huge weight problem until early adolescence.

Collet and Zak moved into a friend's house, the Klipper residence, because Collet refused to return to her childhood home. The Klipper family had two adopted children, Dimitri who was about six years below Zak's age and Sarah who was nine years his junior. They became as close as three people can be and helped each other out with everything. At age 13, when Dimitri was seven they entered the Career gym. Sarah followed a few years later.

This is when Zak's gluttony problem dissipated and soon enough, he became the top in the spear and the shooting areas. He was also fairly good at clubs and hand in hand combat but only proficient in the sword and knives. This was when he went from the bottom of the food chain to the top.

All the while though, Zak had an ulterior motive in being a Career. He wanted to impress his father and earn love from him back. Ever since his mother and he had moved out, his father became distant. Zak tried many times to talk to his father, trying to bridge a rickety relationship but his father only wanted to drink.

All the while, Zak kept his grades up, and at 16 he got his first two tattoos on his arms. Then, when he thought life would remain calm for the rest of his life tragedy reared its ugly head and in the hardest way Zak had ever felt. He found his father, slumped over in a chair, alcohol in hand, dead in his house in Victor's Village. At just age 17 he felt as though he would never feel the same, and soon went into a deep depression.

After about two weeks, Zak noticed a change in Sarah that was the side effect of his depression. She was just as depressed as he was, which hurt him because he loved her like a sister. That very night, he decided that it would better for him to be happier all the time because there was so much bad in the world that he shouldn't remind everyone. From that night on, he became a fun loving guy who loved being around people.

At age 18 when he ad gone through his last Reaping, he walked immediately to the City Hall and applied to become a Peace Keeper. It took five years of training but he finally got the position. In the first few months of his new position he had been the perfect Peace Keeper so he was put on a special task force. It was to torture and attain information from those who had did the Capitol wrong. He wasn't sure if he liked that job but he does the job to the best of his abilities and even when he couldn't attain the information, he left a clear message in the mind of those he interrogated, "The Capitol WILL find out."

Now at 25, he does his job each day, trains in weaponry each night, and lives a relatively calm life. As soon as he got his first pay check he moved his mother out of the Klipper house and then himself. He tries to be the best he can be, and gives his best effort in everything. He truly has beaten the odds.
