Age: 17

District/Area: Wanderer
Appearance:
Aspen is of the average build of District 11 teenage males. His years of working outside in the orchards is evident in her muscular, and fit body type, and his permanently dark olive skin tone. Working for so many years as also proven its hard toll on the countless amounts scars that adorn Aspen's dark skin. Sizes of the scars range from very small ones from thorns on fruit trees, to a large diagonal car that covers his whole back (from an accident with a scythe). He even has some whip lash scars from Peacekeepers. Aspen has very dark brown eyes, nearly black in color, and stands at six foot two inches.Personality:
Aspen is not a very materialistic person at all. He does not own many clothes, and the ones that he does have are very similar. Generally, a normal outfit might be brown buckled boots, tan cargo pants, and a rugged neutral colored long sleeve shirt (sleeves generally rolled up).
Aspen is a strong, shrewd boy that, amazingly, escaped from District 11 (more about his is in his history). Just this act along shows the brash and boldness of Aspen. He is willing to go on a limb for something he believes in, but only for something that he believes in, and something that he agrees with. This can lead to being both reckless, but also inspirational and heroic.History:
Aspen would also do very well in the Hunger Games if he had ever been reaped. Not only he is very strong, but he also has strong survival senses. He can handle bladed weapons well, but is not so great with bows and other long distance weapons. His survival skills also extend to having a good knowledge and intuition on edible plants, making traps, and living outdoors. These are valuable skills that District 11 has taught him. Aspen learned how to identify plants by working with agriculture for most of his life, and living so close with nature, and he learned how to use various blades when having to chop and harvest produce quickly and efficiently for his work. Why on earth would he know about trap making though? To keep those little rodents from eating all the produce!
Aspen is also a very compassionate person. When he likes someone, such as his little sister, he will defend them with his life. He will stick up for his loved ones, fight for them, and will always put their best interest for his own. However, since his sister has died, he will most likely have to set his sights on someone else to defend. In truth, this keeps Aspen sane. The fact that he has something to work for and protect keeps him mentally stable in his hard, brutal life.
Aspen Abell grew up the average District 11 live style, which is a very harsh one at that. Starting at a young age, Aspen learned the ways of being a fruit gatherer in the orchards as well as fields. He learned to work long hours with little break time, and in varying degrees of extreme weather. His family and friends were all a very tight knit group. Particularly, Aspen took care of his little sister. They were a very close pair, and she was what kept Aspen set in his District. His sole goal in life was to protect her, and keep her safe. However, one day she was caught eating from the fruit supplies, and was whipped. The Peacekeepers had whipped the girl so hard that she had died.Codeword: odair
This is when Aspen's life took a dramatic turn. He was 17 at the time of this dreadful event, and he knew he no longer had any strong attachments to District 11. After weeks of planning, Aspen cleverly devised his plan of escape. Timing down the exact seconds when the gates would open for transportation to leave, and when the Peacekeepers would be blocked from his view, Aspen made it out of one of the strictest Districts in Panem. With only a small rucksack of a few extra clothes, a small amount of food he could snag, and a knife-- Aspen was off.
Life as a wanderer proved very simple and relatively easy for awhile. However, after only being gone for five days, Aspen was stumbled upon by anther group of wanderers. It was a very small group of what seemed like bandits or pirates, lead by a young man named Hook. Reluctantly, Aspen joined after Hook offered him a spot. Why did Aspen join? The others. Among the "pirates" was a girl, close to his own age, that clearly didn't belong there. Aspen could tell by the look on her face that she dreaded being with the group. Maybe with his little sister now dead, this girl could be his goal. He could use his life to protect her, and make her happier. Eh, it was worth a shot . . .
