Watching the Shop at noon

It was noon or it at least seemed like it to Azalea. For the next few hours or so she was in charge of the family shop. Her parents were well known in the district for they were one of the few who did with the unwanted things from the animals they butchered. Her long wavy hair flapped softly in the humid breeze. Lately the temperature had been almost un bearable. Even the animals that surrounded almost every part of District 5 had been starting to feel the heat.
She took the water skin from the hook on the wall behind the stand. Everything had been quiet recently since the recent Reaping. What was only two days seemed like forever. Even though she didn’t know Peter or Sony she could feel the pain their parents must be in. The chances of them seeing their child again were slim to none. Out of the 24 tributes two from every district only one would be able to survive and see their family again. Even after all of that there was no guarantee they would be able to go back to the life they had before. What horrid injury that they would receive was far beyond the imagination of one girl.
Through the small monitor on the desk she could see the clips of the different tributes. The people of Panem could only see what its Capitol wanted them to see. But Azalea knew that there were something that were more important than a District 1 male stealing food from some other tribute. So far they had shown nothing of the District 5 female. Though there were no reports of her death as of yet she had her doubts.
With a large sigh she crossed her arms on the desk and put her head down still watching the people on the screen. The very same people that could have been her or one of her friends. She waited hoping deeply that there would bee some other to come by and save her from these depressing thoughts.
