THE STREKKER TRIPLETS[/size]
[OOC: Open to anyone]
The oldest of the triplets, Fornax, weaves through the crowd as fast as she can, looking for her sisters. She would have blended in fine with the rest of the rush if it hadn't been for her red hair drawing the eyes of a few bored citizens of the district. Fornax never noticed this, and it was just as well, as she would have gone right into a shell if she knew. Most people passed her without even a sideways glance, so it was hard for her to notice if she tried. Her purpose of this rush was because the baker had thrown out a burnt loaf of bread, and she had been near enough to see it, and take it. She had to show her sisters. Their hunger was so intense any one of them could collapse at any moment. The hot bread in her arms was the only thing that kept her going. Who knows where her sisters might be?
She continues the run-walk, and finds them laying in an odd position, one which made it look as though they were laying on eachother at the same time. Meredith's body was on the ground, her head resting on Amity, but Amity's body was curled up so she was huddled almost on Meredith's back, with her head laying on the ground. Merith's head was rested on Amity's. Fornax slowly approached them with the bread behind her back. Amity looked up at her through hungry eyes, "Whatch yer got there?" She mumbles, and Fornax smiles. Bringing the bread out, Merdith and Amity scramble to their feet, the site of the bread seemingly bringing back their strength. Amity looked a bit more unstable, but that would soon be fixed. The giggled and hugged for a bit, and then Fornax led them to a table. They sat down, but tried not to dirty the seats with their filthy clothes.
"Where did you get it?!" Meredith asks, as Fornax turns the bread over in her hands, "The baker threw it out, see it's burned a bit." Fornax replies, pointing at a black mark along the right side. "We should save some for Ma and Da." Amity says, taking the bread. "Oh yes, we'll bring it right home, now!" Meredith says hurridly, and grabs the bread from Amity. Turning around, she doesn't expect to see a man standing there. He's thin and dirty, like them, and greed is in his eyes. Greed for the bread. Meredith quickly tries to back away with it, but he grabs it. "Hey!" Fornax yells, "That's our bread!" They all run to him, but he keeps it high above their reach. He even takes a bite. "It's not yers, I have it," He growls, and throws Amity back.
Meredith, seeing ow much stronger he was than he looked, backed up a few inches. Although stubborn little Fornax refused. "Give me that bread!" She yalls, and shoves her head into his side. He gives a cluck of surpise, then grabs her hair. "You lil' brat!" He says, and pushes her back. Amity cries out in surpise, and Meredith grits her teeth. "Thief." She says, and he laughs. Meredith helps Fornax up, and the man takes another bite of the bread. They stand there helplessly, as he takes more and more bites of their food. Three, four, five, six, until it's completely gone. Thats when Amity breaks into tears. Meredith tries to calm her down, but she can't be. Fornax turns in time to see the man dissapear behind a corner. Sitting down next to them, she pats Amity's head, "It's okay. It's alright. We'll find more food." She says, as though it were real. Looking up, she hopes there is food nearby. That they won't have trouble finding any.
