The looking glass so shiny and new
How quickly the glamor fades
I start spinning slipping out of time
Was that the wrong pill to take (Raise it up)
You made a deal and now it seems you have to offer up
But will it ever be enough
(Raise it up raise it up)
It´s not enough
(Raise it up raise it up)
The soapy water draped across her as she closed her eyes and let herself sink deeper into the bath. The drugs she had taken were taking their desired effect. Swirling colours and bird songs that weren’t there filled the girl’s eyes and ears as she sat in the bath tub- fully clothed- that, she found funny, and was now laughing; starting as a quiet giggle to a maniacal cackle. She wasn’t sure why she had got into the bath fully clothed- but she didn’t care. She was having fun splashing around in the bubbles as she laughed erratically. Other would hear Callidora but she did not care- she was in her own little world. The drugs continued to take hold, the experience becoming more heightened and fun for the red head who coughed and laughed in the bath water.
Here I am a rabbit hearted girl
Frozen in the headlights
It seems I´ve made the final sacrifice
We raise it up this offering
We raise it up
Frozen in the headlights
It seems I´ve made the final sacrifice
We raise it up this offering
We raise it up
As Callidora became powerless to the drugs- the anxiety began to slip over her eyes and mind; the bath water suddenly feeling too deep, like it was a chasm filled with water rather than a bath filled with 2 feet of it. Callidora gripped the edges of the bath, her knuckles becoming pale and ridged as her laughter slowly faded into hysterical screams. Water slopped over the rim as Callidora desperately tried to free herself from the hell that she had gotten herself into. The drugs had her in its grip now, and she struggled to clamber out the bath- a tidal wave of water following her as she flung herself to the floor. Callidora gasped and coughed as her fire red hair stuck to her cheeks, and the bath water dripped from her chin. Her body rocked forward, retching up bile from her stomach- accompanied by a hacking cough as the bile spilt out of her mouth and onto the floor, burning her throat with its acidity.
This is a gift it comes with a price
Who is the lamb and who is the knife
When Midas is king and he holds me so tight
And turns me to gold in the sunlight
Who is the lamb and who is the knife
When Midas is king and he holds me so tight
And turns me to gold in the sunlight
Her body shook, as she stared into the reflection of her face in the bile and the tiled floor- her green eyes wide, almost totally absorbed by her enlarged pupils- the whites of her eyes seeming almost demonic. Salty tears joined the bathwater as it ran down her cheeks, dripping and hanging off her nose and chin. The red haired girl, clawed her nails into the tiles as her body shook, another wave of bile erupting from within; her throat swollen and sore. Callidora’s head began to spin too, the blood in her brain pounding like a never ending drum. She coughed a little more, the drug clouding up her mind and vision as she placed her hands on her knees- forcing herself to stand; the aroma of bile and acid filled the air.
I look around but I can´t find you
(raise it up)
If only I could see your face
(raise it up)
Instead of rushing towards the skyline
(raise it up)
I wish that I could just be brave
(raise it up)
If only I could see your face
(raise it up)
Instead of rushing towards the skyline
(raise it up)
I wish that I could just be brave
Stumbling almost drunkenly, Callidora made her way out of the house and into the back ally that was one of many of the snaking pathways in the busy factory part of District 8. The summer sun hung high above in the sky- the never ending blueness surround the large yellow orb that sent heat beating down on Callidora. The summer’s sun was unforgiving- and as she walked, she could already feel herself drying as her bare feet tiptoeing across the ice cold concrete. The laughter had returned, Callidora found it funny that she was wearing no shoes and that the sky was like a rainbow- to her anyway. She laughed and laugh and laughed- not caring what anyone else thought. She managed to find herself to a park, somewhere in the District. It hadn’t rained in some time and the grass had begun to turn yellow and dry- stabbing at the soles of Callidora’s feet as she walked across it before she fell to a heap on the floor.
I must become a lion hearted girl
Ready for a fight
Before I make the final sacrifice
We raise it up this offering
We raise it up
