Dellie Marks is of average height for her age, being around 5'4". Her weight is slightly under where it should be, for she only weighs one hundred pounds. If you look hard enough, you can almost see her ribs. She has dark blonde hair with brown streaks through it, which are natural. Dellie has gray-blue eyes. Her nose is slightly squashed, like a more turned-down version of the dreaded 'pig nose.' She's pale, almost pale as a ghost, since she's almost always indoors. Unlike most girls her age, she has yet to start 'blossoming.' Meaning that she's, well, slightly lacking in her breasts. She often finds herself glaring at them in the mirror, willing them to grow. As it turns out, that often doesn't work. What does, though, is toilet paper.
Dellie's hair stops just above her shoulders, where it curls in just the slightest bit. She rarely wears makeup. She just doesn't see the point in it, since she cares so little about how people think she looks. She's often seen wearing simple clothes, such as jeans and a tee-shirt, since she absolutely hates dressing up. She almost always has her hair down, unless she's in the lab.

Dellie is, simply put, a know-it-all. She hates being proven wrong, which she rarely is. She'll stalk around angrily and begin spouting random knowledge to redeem herself if she is wrong. As implied, however, Dellie is very intelligent. She spends her time in labs and at home with her nose crammed into a book. She absolutely adores proving other people wrong.
Dellie is popular among her group of friends, but that's where the line is drawn. Due to her personality, people tend to shy away from her. Dellie doesn't mind, though. She believes that they're only intimidated by her brain power. She simply stays with her friends, who keep her happy.
Dellie isn't afraid to speak her mind, which often gets her in trouble. She has a very large mouth, admittedly. If you disagree with her, she'll debate with you until you'd rather be deaf than hear another pipe out of her mouth. She volunteers in class without hesitation, and answers questions the same way. It often gets to the point where some of the class actually groans when the teacher calls on her.
Dellie has very severe anxiety. She gets nervous over the simplest of things, and stresses herself far too much. She has panic attacks on a regular basis. These attacks frighten those around her, because occasionally they seem to come out of nowhere.

Dellie works occasionally at the lab that her parent's own. She helps file and sometimes even does research alongside them. She hopes that, when she gets older, she can have an actual job in the lab, or maybe even own it. She loves it there, it's the one place where she feels that she doesn't have to be anything but herself- mainly because of the workers there, who support and love her for her. Dellie only volunteers, of course-- she doesn't have a full-time job at her parent's lab.
The blonde's childhood was a good one. She's an only child, and used to getting all the praise and attention for her intellect. She's always excelled in school. That is, until one year, when she suddenly fell behind. She began closing in on herself. She went into a deep depression that lasted half a year. She managed to pick up all of her pieces and hoist herself out of it, but she fears that one day she might relapse. And then what would become of her? Her depression is inherited from her mother.
Dellie's family does anything they can to prevent her from falling into another depression. They love her for her brains, for the most part. They brag about her, which makes her feel amazing. But when she falls behind even by a letter grade, they're so disappointed that it comes to the point where they refuse to talk to her. Her parents love having the 'genius' in their family.
