Appearance:
Ezra's appearance seems a bit disheveled once you see him for the first time. He doesn't look like he washes his hair properly and is very used to being dirty for days at a time. But, whenever he does get the chance, he does clean himself off. His head is full of brown, almost light shade of black, hairs. He likes to keep it short, even though he seems a bit unkempt.Personality:
His clothes, though, are a little different. They don't display the unkempt appearance that he usually keeps. Even though his clothes aren't 'royal' or 'fancy' as the clothes in the Capitol, as he manages to make some of his clothes himself from the textile material available in District 8. Most of the clothes he makes from the material he has at the time usually doesn't have much color. Mostly, just white. Clothing dye is a bit too lavish for him to buy.
In addition to his mostly unkempt appearance, he is also very skinny and a bit short. At a stature of 5'8', he isn't the same size as some of the boys from the better off districts. Because of the height difference and the build, Ezra is also not as strong or physically able as them.
Here's where things get tricky. Ezra is a bit different from some of the normal people in District 8. He likes to make people think he is a very caring person, but on the inside, he has a very manipulative demeanor. He isn't afraid to use people for what his goals. He even uses his family as pawns in his little game. However, unlike other people, he does actually care about his family.History:
However, more like his family, he keeps to himself and doesn't let anyone else inside his head. He may tell things to people, but everything that he tells others about himself, besides his own names, doesn't have a sense of truth in it. He likes to guard his past, and keep it protected, instead of giving people an entry way to his heart. That would just make it harder for him to manipulate them later. If they care about him, truly, he may start to care about them too.
Also unlike people, he's nocturnal. He doesn't go out at night, but he can usually be seen looking out of the window. The only thing keeping him from waking up in the afternoon is school, where they usually just teach pointless dribble about the Capitol and things about their own district over and over again. It's really pointless that they teach such things, at least to him.
Ezra wasn't an exactly a welcome addition to the family. His father was a bit of a swinger at the time, and he liked to go around and flirt and shag many women. Eventually, this had gotten tiresome. Especially when one of the women his father had shagged has gotten pregnant by none other than his own father. Of course, his father took the baby and the responsibility of the child. He may have been trying to have a bit of fun, and he already had one child, a little girl who was just a single year old. He worked for the family, to raise it.Codeword: Odair
And eventually, they grew. Strange children they were, the girl liked to work. But, Ezra was always quiet and disdained human contact as a child. His home life wasn't poor as people may have thought it was. In fact, he had the usual for children in District 8. A home. Some amount of food, even though not all the time. A family that he actually loved. But, what was missing from his life that was so important that everyone else had the ability to do? Love.
At least, for people other than the people related to him. He didn't genuinely care for others. He simply passed them on by with a level of ignorance and had thought that if someone started to care about him, maybe he could be able to care about someone else. Even though he still holds this belief, he also knows that it would be hard for him to ever love. It's a skill he lacked, the ability to care about anyone.. Even though, there have been some exceptions. But not any important exceptions.
This lack of love had turned into a passion for clothes, later in life. It was his only friend. He couldn't keep an actual friend because he never wanted to communicate. Instead, he learned how to manipulate people and have 'friends'. But his one true friend was making clothing from the material in District 8. A passion, a hobby, call it whatever you want, it was the one thing he was able to love.
The manipulation, though, was a common factor in who he would hang around and what he would do with the people he manipulated. He could manipulate them into doing stupid things-- he even got a couple of people to fall in love with him. The love was never returned, but he could always pretend it was. And, it was fun. It was all a game. He's just wondering-- when will life stop being a game? When will life be something of worth?
