Sienna Emerson (District 7)

Sienna Emerson is very short. She looks like she's ten years old, though she's really fourteen. She's also very skinny because her family is extremely poor. She has almost no muscle. Her hair falls in long, frizzy, curly brown locks. Her face is an even tan, because she likes to spend most of her days outside. Her eyebrows are more thick than she'd like, but she doesn't believe in makeup of any type, so she leaves her face the way it is. Her eyes are large with long, black eyelashes. Her irises are deep, chocolate brown. Overall, she has a very pretty face and figure.

Sienna usually wears a faded electric blue tanktop, since that's her favorite color. Besides, she hardly has any other shirts. She also wears her torn and tattered jean kapris, which she is lucky enough to have two pairs of. Her shoes are usually off-white tennis shoes. The left shoe has a hole in the toe.

Sienna walks sorta hunched over. She also has bad posture when she is sitting. Which is kinda strange, since she has great posture when she dances. Her slim figure makes her pretty light on her feet, so she's a great dancer, but because her legs are so short, she's a slow runner. Also, due to her lack of excess body fat, she's has very little stamina. Overall, she hates running because she simply can't do it.

Many boys seek out Sienna, but she's too shy. She doesn't have many friends because she isn't outgoing enough to find them. She's actually very intelligent, but because she never gives any input in school people label her as an idiot. She isn't very popular because of her lack of talking as well. But she tries to ignore all the people who taunt and tease her and be her own person.

Because of her lack of friends, Sienna has had lots of alone time on her hands to practice anything she wants. She chose to practice knife-throwing. Many would wonder why she wouldn't just choose to learn how to handle an axe. It's because she has the "be original" attitude. She doesn't want to be like every other boy, girl, man and woman in District 7. Now, after nine years of practice, she is very skilled; her aim is dead-on. Sienna uses the abundant forests around District 7 for a different reason than most of the people there use it for. She hunts the wildlife there and uses that to feed her family. Food can be scarce in District Seven, and she isn't very trusting of others, so she likes to make sure the food she eats has been handled carefully.

Sienna is very protective of herself and family. She hardly has anyone she can trust, and definitely shows her distrust in others by not talking

Sienna has things she likes and dislikes. She really enjoys music, dancing, knife-throwing (Obviously), and spending time with her family. She dislikes people who pick on others. She especially dislikes people who copy what others do, like those who try to mimic Capital fashions or who aren't their own person. That is why she is so against makeup. If you asked her what her worst fear is, she'd say snakes. She can't STAND them.

Her favorite type of weather is rain. She loves running outside when it's raining and, when everybody else is bundled up inside, she dances in the downpour. The weather she hates the most is snow, because she doesn't enjoy the cold and depressing feelings of winter.

Sienna wishes dearly that she could sing. but she cannot. Her brothers all have beautiful singing voices, as her mother once had. But Sienna missed out on the ability to sing, and never has enjoyed that, either.

As you can see, Sienna really dislikes things she can't do. She isn't very determined to practice things she can't already do. With knife-throwing, it was somewhat natural to her. She could practice at it because she was good at it. But with things like running and singing, she refuses to try, for it only lowers her pitiful amount of self-esteem.

Sienna has an average-sized family. She has a father, two younger brothers, and one older brother. Being the only girl in her family would seemingly make her tom-boyish, but because of her attitude of be original and ignore outside influences, she is still fairly girlie.

Her mother died when she was only 3 years old. Her mother was a strong, pretty woman. She was a lumberjack, which is the occupation of most District 7 residents. One day, she was chopping down a particularly large tree. The last chop sent it hurtling to the ground, right where she was.

Sienna's mother tried to escape the falling tree, but it was going too fast. It landed right on top of her, crushing every bone in her body, as well as her vital organs. She was killed instantly. Maybe this is why Sienna is so shy. Does she not think anyone will understand her? Maybe she thinks she'll get hurt even more than she already was so long ago. All we know is it's safe to say that Seinna was permanently scarred by her mother's death, past what's healthy.

Sienna has always been afraid of axes since then and refuses to even touch them. That is another reason she decided to take up knife throwing.

Sienna was also greatly affected by another experience. She was only five or six when her father took her on a picnic for some daddy-daughter time. The found a nice spot in the shade, next to a large grouping of rocks that was in the sunlight. It was warm outside, and Sienna decided to play on the large rocks. She was jumping off them, into her father's arms. She was walking across the rock, when she accidentally stepped on a snake. Snakes are cold-blooded, so they sit outside and warm up on rocks when it's warm enough.

The snake didn't enjoy being squished very much. It bit into her leg, tearing out a little flesh. It freaked her out, and she ran screaming to her father, who killed it swiftly with his axe. Thankfully, it wasn't poisonous, but it left a nasty scar on her left leg, as well as a terrible phobia for snakes of any sort.
