Appearance:

Eyes a nearly glowing green to compliment the trees around him. Dirty-blonde hair wisps around his ears flowing from his head in all directions. A toned body from years of physical labor in the woods that run through his home. This is Kelton T. Kempfer.

His body is tanned from endless days spent in the sun without a shirt. Short stature should not be overlooked for he is a powerhouse at 5'5" and 153 pounds of pure muscle. He can lift most any weight asked of him and looks as if brute force can get him through any situation.

He has small scars all over his palms as well as calluses up his fingers. A long tapering scar follows his jawbone from a fight in the schoolyard years ago. He has crossing lines across his back from whippings throughout the years, as well as a crooked nose due to multiple breaks that were left to heal the wrong way. Stubble lines his upper lip and jaw on the occasion he doesn't shave before work or school.

A thin navy blue T-shirt covers his body in the early hours of cold. His only pair of blue jeans with dreadful tears in the knees cover his checkered boxers. Steel-toed boots that have been passed down through generations keep his toes from harm. Dog tags hang from his neck; they read 'Kyle L. Kempfer' and have been passed down through the generations of Kempfer's. An axe slung over his shoulder, ready for work.

A fine specimen of a hard-worker.

Personality:

Kelton is a proud (but sometimes arrogant) young man. He is always attempting to blow off school to continue working in the woods to keep up his reputation as, 'The Toughest Lumberman of Panem.' He wears this status proudly, often showing it off as if it were a badge.

Thing is, his arrogance is only present in front of his fellow lumbermen and school friends. Girls make him quite uncomfortable and he is very quiet around them. Frankly, he ignores them as best he can. Mostly he stays away because he knows that he makes a huge fool of himself around them. So as long as he doesn't try to talk to them, he knows he won't fail.

Kelton sticks up for what he believes in the best he can, pushing it to the point of a beating from the Peacekeepers, but keeping away from becoming and Avox. He voices his opinions and most everyone knows where he stands because he doesn't only know his own opinions, he lets everyone around him know them too. This usually gets him a beating or hushed tones of fear from fellow friends.

Kelton has a soft spot, like most every guy does. He has a little sister who he is proud to be seen with, no matter who the audience is. He has tried to fill the shoes of a fatherly figure as best he could for her, attempting to be that man she didn't have most of her life. He goes to bed every night not only feeling like a failure to her and his father, but to himself as well.

Failure is just not an option and Kelton is always pushing himself to his limits. To be the best Lumberman. To be the best kid in class. To be the best brother he can be.

History:

Kelton was born during the winter months on December 5th. He has a younger half-sister (age 11) whom he adores and loves very much. Kelton never knew his mother, who died during his birth. His father was devastated but recovered 6 years later, remarrying. The birth of his little sister soon followed.

Kelton was born into a poor family like most in the Districts are. He was fortunate enough to have so much inheritance from his family line, including clothes and tools and a beautiful house. He was fortunate to be part of a family that could get a regular shower or bath.

During the first years of his life, Kelton was taken care of by a friendly neighbor while his dad worked. But as soon as Kelton was old enough his father brought him along with.

The fight in the schoolyard happened when Kelton was 13. The fight was caused by a disagreement on who was stronger. (Fights always seem to be about something useless when you are young.) Kelton was hit to the ground with a bleeding jaw, as well as broken pride, for the fight was ended before he was allowed his own punch.

When Kelton was 14 his father died and he was left to care for his little sister and stepmother alone. He tried to be unphased by the loss of his father but he truly was his last real family. But now all he lives for is his sister.

Kelton isn't a favorite with the Peacekeepers in 7 and has a history with most of them. He has taken beatings for the inability to hold his tongue and threats to be sent to the Capitol and stay there ... as an Avox.

From age 14 to 18 Kelton has managed to not only attend most school days but support two others as well. All that while managing to avoid having to get tesserae. And now he is nearly in the clear as he inches towards age 19 and safety from the Games.
