Fynn Mako - District 4

Fynn is slightly above average in height. He's six feet two inches. He has an above-average length torso and below average length legs. He's about 200 pounds of almost all muscle. He's not extremely buff, but he has very defined muscles. Fynn is also very athletic. He's fast, agile, strong, and coordinated.

Fynn has light brown, short hair that turns almost blond in the summer. He has short sideburns and sometimes grows out his beard to a small stubble or just shaves it completely. He has ocean blue eyes and somewhat tanned skinned with a clear complexion. His nose is slightly crooked from being broken multiple times. Fynn also has a light but noticeable scar that starts just above his left eyebrow and continues below his eye to just below his cheekbone. This is from being cut by a stingray barb while swimming in a reef when he was 12.

Fynn overall is a pretty nice guy. He's friendly to most people unless they give him a reason not to be. He respects authority, although he rarely listens to anyone but himself. He can be sociable, but he also is perfectly fine being alone, especially in the ocean. He's confident and charismatic, and when he is in a good mood, he's almost always calm and easygoing.

Fynn is very responsible and mature, having raised three younger siblings since he was only 13. He is a very hard worker and always gets the job done well. He doesn't really like to talk to people his age he doesn't know; he would rather stay to himself and be on his own. People find it hard to be friendly with him because he is so closed up and moody at times. When he does get to know someone, he really opens up. He seems more comfortable talking to adults and elders, usually about work or politics.

Even though he's pretty reserved and mature, he still likes to have fun and act young sometimes. This is usually only with his close friends or someone new if he gets really comfortable with them. Fynn can get really sad sometimes when the struggles of his life and past get to him. He at times gets very angry. Some of the littlest things can set him off, and he explodes. Being in the water and in nature really calms him and makes him feel at home. He's also brave and adventurous; however, he's independent and rebellious and has very little regard for the rules.

Fynn was born on his father's trawl boat while his parents were on a fishing trip. His dad was a trawler and fisherman, while his mom usually stayed at home. They lived in District 4 on the southern coast of Panem. The were moderately wealthy, although on the low end for District 4. Fynn grew up working at sea with his dad.

When Fynn was five, his mother gave birth to his twin brothers, Beck and Kai. Then when he was eleven and his mom was pregnant again, his dad died. He was lost at sea and never found. Half a year later, his mom had his sister, Mariana. After his father's death, his mom suffered from severe depression.

When Fynn was thriteen, his mom died of heart failure.The doctors said it was from severe depression and anxiety. Now Fynn had no job, no money, and three siblings to provide for. The Capitol did not give any aid to the family, and the only help they received was from local citizens. Fynn had to work jobs on boats, trawling and fishing, or he had to sell his handmade nets, lines, poles, and reels.

Because he was from District 4, Fynn was trained as a career for almost ten years until he quit at age fifteen.He had to work more and he began to develop his own opinions about the Hunger Games. He disagreed with them as well as anything the Capitol mandated. He hated the Capitol since they did not help his family, so he often thought of rebellion or desertion. However, he was too smart to do anything radical that would put his family in danger.

At seventeen, Fynn began to work on his own boat, like his father had. Beck and Kai trained at a career boarding school, and Mariana was welcomed to stay at a friends house whenever she needed to. The only reason Fynn approved of his brothers training was so that they could stand a chance if they were reaped. This way, he could also work for days at a time without having to worry about his siblings. He was self-employed, so he could work and take off whenever he wanted to. He was able to make some money and food from the catch that wasn't ordered immediately to the Capitol (another thing he hated),and he could also have some free time to be somewhat of a teenager. He enjoyed swimming, surfing, and pretty much anything on the beach or in the water.
