Aventurine is a translucent to opaque variety of microcrystalline quartz.
It contains small inclusions of shiny minerals which give the stone a sparkling effect known as aventurescence.
Inclusions of mica will give a silverish sheen, while inclusions of hematite give a reddish or grayish sparkle.

Appearance
Scenario 1: Family Dinner
"You look nice today," says Aventurine's Mother as she passes her, heading to the dinner table. Ave turns to face her, a lock of blonde cascading over her shoulder. She opens her large, plump lips to speak, but her mother has already made her own way over to the dining table. Ave just stands there a minute, smiling. She seemed as if she was thinking. Which she was. She was thinking about how everyone played jokes on her. Telling her she was beautiful, when she knew she was a grotesque pig. It's a funny thing, you see. Everyone just seemed to love telling 16 year old Aventurine Skye Shore that she was pretty. They even had to nerve to say at times she was too skinny, and frail! Psh, Ave knew what she looked like.
She had looked inand broke a few mirrors before. She was a flabby girl, with big cheeks, wide eyes, and huge lips. Everything about her was huge and blotchy. She was an ugly scum. On good days, she might look in the mirror and see someone slightly pretty. A pudgy girl with dimples, and dried wheat blonde hair; but, you see, in all reality all of the girls Ave saw in the mirror weren't her. For Ave has Body Dysmorphic Disorder. You see, when she looks in the mirror she sees a fat girl who is almost stuffed inside of the pretty dresses her family gives her. But, in all reality, Ave is a stick whose clothes barely even fit! She starves herself, and barely even craves food, for she believes she's fat. After all, a mirror can't lie... can it? No, of course not.
So, Ave just takes all of the compliments and worried statements people give her and throws them away; deeming it all as sick jokes. You see, even though she always has that big smile on her face, Ave has a lot of hatred towards herself burning deep within her. For, when every day the mirror in your room serves as a sick reminder that you are a pig, you tend to snap. But, we'll get into her whole... off-ness, in a bit.
You see, aside from what Ave sees, she is actually a pretty girl. Being adopted she has traits that differ from most of her family members, but she falls in about the same category as them. She has straggly blonde hair that varies between a silvery blonde to a waving waterfall of liquid gold. Her eyes are very large and a pale blue in color. They are innocent, almost unknowing in a way. Her lips are plump, and have a pout. Face is all around delicate, and so is her body. She's very fragile. She has ribs that stick out a bit, and shadows bruise the skin beneath her eyes. She dresses up, even though she thinks she looks like a pig, because she has an obsession of wanting to feel pretty. Her family has enough funds to acquire makeup, so on bad days Ave will pile it on. The topic of her appearance is a very complex subject. To your eyes she may be fair... but to her own, she's scum.
After taking a seat Ave stares at her plate for a few stretched minutes. She glances over and sees her reflection in one of the shiny, clear forks. Pudgy. She stands up with a wide, almost unstable smile. "May I please be excused? I don't feel very hungry. I'll watch the required film twice tomorrow. Before and after dinner. Sorry."

(OOC: She's so complex! Let me break this down. As I described, Ave has body dysmorphic disorder. In reality, she's a very skinny girl with locks of silvery blonde hair, fair skin, large blue eyes, and plump lips. The compliments people give her are true, but due to her disorder she always sees herself as an ugly pig when she looks in the mirror. She always smiles because she's a little... off. {See personality} Anyways she dresses up and such, but she also starves herself because she thinks she's fat. Due to her neglecting herself because of her condition, she also has bags under her eyes and she's really weak. Her greatest career skill is being agile, and fast. But, all in all,.. she's a fragile bird, my friend.

Personality
Scenario 2: Training Center
Ave sits in the Training Center. She trails one of her slender fingers along the delicate blade in her hand, careful not to take in her reflection. She's smiling; like always. There's something off about Ave. Aside from having Body Dysmorhpic Disorder, Ave's mind was a twisted place. She was always longing to be someone new, and loved. Someone better. For every time Ave's eyes fell on a beautiful girl she felt a twisted desire to be that girl. Sure, wanting to be someone else isn't all that uncommon... But Ave takes it to a new level.
Ave raises her head slowly as the Training Center doors open. She's smiling at the girl who walks through, even though her insides are burning with jealousy and she wanted to stab the dagger into the flesh of her face and rip it off. You see, Ave was a great actress. She could make you think she really wasn't hungry, make you think she felt pretty, and even make you think she was happy and stable. Well, sure, some things about Ave do scream UNSTABLE! But that could just be taken as an overly friendly girl. But, that's actually what Ave wants you to see her as. The super friendly girl who means no harm. Ave rises slowly, and hugs the knife to her chest as she inhales. The girl who entered seems to float on air.
The girl has an angelic face and waving gold hair. Ave opens her mouth in awe of the girl's majesty before glancing down. She caught her reflection in the knife's blade. She was fat and looked god-awful. She was wearing a white dress with blue fringe that was stretched due to her fatness, and the white ribbon in her hair only made the straggly mess look slightly pretty. Ave brought her eyes up quickly and clenched the knife; scarlet droplets falling from her palm and splattering on the toe of her white shoe. Ave didn't know what she really looked like, but what she saw was enough to make her smile waver. Ave didn't realize that in all reality the dress she was wearing was hanging loosely on her fragile frame, and that the white ribbon actually looked very pretty in her silvery blonde hair. But that was the thing, Ave could never realize that she was actually pretty. And that caused for an ever internal flame of jealousy to burn within her. As the girl walked closer Ave fixed her smile and dropped the knife to the floor. It clattered and spun, before stopping and allowing one last droplet of Ave's blood to fall onto the ground.
Ave walked closer to the girl as well, and her eyes twinkled in envy. Her smile was wide now, so unstable. She was analyzing everything about this girl. The way she walked, talked, how people looked at her. Ave's palm was dripping blood from where she clenched the knife, but she wasn't nothing. Her unstable-ness was taking affect. She was wanting to be this girl. She closed her eyes fleetingly as she imagined living a day in the life of that girl. When she opened her eyes back up she was smiling wider and even laughing a bit. That was a pure dream. A dream she wanted.
Her mind was growing rampant as she crept closer to the girl. Befriend her. said a voice. Make her feel safe, than slit her throat and steal her identity. You can do it, chimed another. You can do it, do it, do it , do , do it, a barrage of them said in unison. Ave's head twitched a bit as she got in front of the girl. She was loosing her cool this time. Most times she was able to seem slightly decent when talking to the people who the voices told her to become. But when she outreached her hand to the girl, with the overly wide smile and bloody palm, the girl only screamed and backed away. Ave glanced down at her bloody hand and laughed. Laughed at her own misery. She glanced back up at the girl who was hiding behind a group of people. The girl got away. But one day Ave would find another girl, keep her cool, and become her. With a shake of her head Ave darted from the training center and into the moonlit night.

(Lets break this down, too! Basically, aside from Aventurine's snapped views on her appearance, she's also broken mentally and emotionally. She is so far gone that she longs to be someone else. Even if that means doing the unthinkable. She's an actress, you see. Seeming like the happiest girl you'd ever met. You'd might even think she was too normal. But she's not normal at all. She's mental. Everything about her mind is warped. After being abandoned by her real family, having her disorder, and just everything that's happened to her, she's fractured. She's far gone.)

History
Scenario 3: The Past
Ave's first memory is of standing with a group of children and knowing she didn't belong. She felt small beside them. Fragile and weak. They all seemed so forceful, and intimidating. And then there was her. Weak, frail, and ugly of course. She was a mere parasite beside them all. They all had auras of power, just like the perfect Career family should. But what was her aura? She thought she had no aura. Seeing herself as the plain, ugly girl. But she was wrong. There was Emmy, the one who shined with the aura of "a golden child". Then there was Pyrite, she screamed "BAMF". Beryl was slick in his own way, and just something minor screamed "Don't underestimate me". Some part of Ave sensed it. Lapis was a party girl, and Witherite was snapped. But little did Aventurine know, in the eyes of everyone else, she was just as snapped as Witherite.
Her family had found it peculiar that a girl as delicately pretty as Ave had such low self esteem. They still don't really know why, actually. They knew the girl practically starved herself, and hated herself. Most people could sense that. Even though she smiled all the time and was a total creep, you could tell at different times that she had a strong distaste towards herself. Sometimes, when her mother would go to check in on her before bedtime, she would see the bathroom door cracked open. She would see little Ave staring into the mirror with a frown etched on her face. Sometimes tears would pool from her eyes, and there would be scratch marks on her bare arms. The first time Ave's mother had saw this, however, was the first time she really noticed how good it was that she had adopted Aventurine.
Ave's mother had adopted the blonde child due to her fair beauty. Ironic, yes. She knew that with great training Ave could possibly become a top Career. But there was just one little problem. Ave's mother soon realized Ave had no confidence. Well that ruined everything. And when Ave started neglecting herself, the mother almost threw her out. But one thing stopped her. When she saw how crazy the little girl looked the night she was scratching her arms. She realized that Ave had something potential Careers had... an unstable mind. The mother's mind went into hyper-drive. There was always one thing viewers loved. Crazy people. And, even if Ave though she was ugly or not, she still had the looks. And the whole complexity of her would be amazing in the Games. The mother knew her choice to adopt had proved well. Though her daughter was mental, which far in her history you'd definitely notice that, she only cared about her chances in the games. And she had great hopes for Miss Cray-Cray.
Ave trained like all of her family. Always longing to be someone different at different times.Y'know, see personality. She became a bit of an actress. Seeming happy, and charismatic. She hides behind a mask, and this one's overdue. For the only mask she really wants, is that mask on YOU!

(This section kind of explains itself. You see ,she thinks she's revolting and ugly. Yeah, yeah, we know! In reality she's pretty, and not all that weak. Yeah, yeah, we know! But she is just so fragile that she hates herself. Anyways, her mother only even tolerates her unstable-ness because she believes she would have a chance in the Games. Which is all she cares about. I mean, her parents are brain-washers who want Victor children! Anyways yeah, Ave is crazy and OMR I'm so happy I've finsihed editing this... just... *FAINTS*)
