Victory got up at dawn that morning to begin her training for the day. Well, she got up at dawn everyday to begin training but today she ran 3 miles. She felt like she had been lacking on her conditioning lately and decided she needed to step it up. And she needed to step it up a lot because she felt like her legs were going to fall off when she finished. She was so sweaty by the time she was done, that she went home and changed.
When Victory arrived at the training center it was 8 o'clock. It was way later then she wanted it to be. It was still pretty early tough, so there were only a few people there. Yet, as soon as she walked in she heard the sounds of knives and spears being thrown into the training dummies. They were so comforting to her, she felt as if she were where she belongs. Normally, before she begins training she stretches for about 20 minutes. Vic couldn't afford to pull her hamstring. Besides, the more flexible she was the better it would work out for her in the arena. So today instead of her normal stretches she quickly went down in a split and stretched to each side for seconds. When she got up she was ready to go.
Victory surveyed the area. Where to start? So many great weapons to pick from, but sadly she could only use one at a time. Her eyes flitted towards the spears then towards the knives. Vic's eyes stayed on those for a few extra seconds but she was going to make herself pick something she wasn't as good in. That's when her eyes settled on the bow. She wasn't horrible with it, but she defintley wasn't as good as some as the other tributes in that department. So Victory made her was over and picked it up. She settled for a dummy that was about 50 yards away. She pushed her hair out of her eyes and got ready to shoot. She focused on her targe and made sure she was set. Then she released the arrow.
As soon as it left her bow she knew it would not hit the bulls eye. And she was right, it was a good 2 inches to the right of it. Victory blew it off, everyone missed every once in a while right? So, she set her bow again and concentrated on her target. She released the arrow again. It was closer, but still not a bullseye. Victory gave a little pout that made her look adorable. Well, she was always adorable so it made her even more adorable. She was starting to get frustrated now. If it wasn't perfect it wouldn't do. Vic took a deep breath and managed to compose herself again. She loaded her bow once more and released. This time, the arrow was about an inch to the right of her goal. Out of pure frustration Victory put an arrow in her bow and realeased, not caring where it went. It ended up lodging itself in the wall. She was just itching to get over to those knives! But she knew it wouldn't help her at all. There was no point since she was so good with them. Victory knew that she could not get better at something she was already perfect at. And she needed to get better. So she pushed her hair out of her eyes, loaded her bow, and faced her target once more.
