Callista Bauer
Does, Says, Thinks, Hears.
It's hard to get over people; I mean really get over them. You can start to have feelings for other people, but it doesn't mean you're over them, it just means you're moving on. There are days when I don't really remember much about my parents, and I wish for it to stay like that. But there are other days in which memories hit me hard, and I just have to stop what I'm doing, and go take some fresh air outside. One of the good things of living with my grandparents it's that their little shop-slash-house is just beside the ocean and whenever those times in which I just need my own space arrive I have the ocean next-door.
Even though my parents lost their lives in the ocean, there's nothing more alive from them than their pace of death itself. The calming sound of the waves hitting the shore approached my ears as I made myself comfortable in the sand. From this point of view the ocean looked just like a blue carpet extending itself through most of the horizon. It looked breathtakingly beautiful.
Standing up from the sand, I took a few steps into the ocean and just stared ahead. Ocean blue covered my feet as I stared out at the ocean. I was standing knee-high inside the water, feeling the seaweed tickle my bare legs and the sand mixing between my toes. The sky was a nice light blue, mixing with slightly gray clouds indicating an approaching rain storm. Better get going, Callie, or you're going to get soaked in the rain. My mind said one thing, but my heart said another, to hell with the rain.
