I sit on my bunk in the nuclear plant, staring up at the ceiling. The white cottage cheese on the ceiling and the sound proof walls surrounded my bed and I turn onto my side and look at the door. I should get started on my work, after a trip to the market. My work is dangerous, and a little break from the stress sounded really good. I stand up and stress, and I look down at my clothes. They're only slightly wrinkled and I smile down at the shirt, which is my favorite. I walk to the door and step out of my room, and I walk out of twists and turns of the building, until I get to the marketplace.
As I stepped outside, the bright sun almost blinded me. Walking over to the marketplace, I pull out a couple coins and stop at a soup booth, paying for a bowl that was warm and felt good down my throat. I finish off the bowl and sit on a chair nearby. I scan the crowd that's forming, looking for a cute girl to wonder about. I see a cute girl with curly hair, she's ok. But there's no others that really catch my eye.
I look down the street, but it's all guys. All guys and no cute girls. I sit down, brushing my hand through my hair, flipping it over my blind eye and ear. I don't hear a sound out of my right side, and I can't seen anything, so I focus on the left. I see the soup cart, the line of customers, and the other merchants setting up or taking down their carts. I hear the sound of the wooden bowls being filled with liquid, the foot steps of guys and girls alike, and the sound of rolling carts and angry customers.
Looking around, I see someone. Far away, I see a girl. I can't tell from this distance, but she looks special. I stand up, trying to get a closer look of the strange girl.
