District five can do a lot to people. It can probably damage hair color, infect scars, and seriously take a lot of energy out of someone. Looking at Kelsey, no one could really tell. Kels looks young and alive, and fresh and everything that didn't resemble some eighteen year old girl living in a district that spends hours mining for oil, getting very dirty. Actually, Kelsey doesn't get involved in that stuff, she has entered the modeling world.

Her long legs give her most of her height, and make her look sexy. Most guys like long legs, right? Right. The feet at the end of her legs are big, like a man's, and very clean. The toe-nails are empty of all dirt or some other unhealthy substance. The long, thin arms of her's lack muscles, something that the weak girl finds embarrassing. Her hands are small, bony, and contain long fingers. Each of the ten fingers has painted fingernails, sometimes lime green, sometimes lightblue, and sometimes black. Kelsey can not think of how many times she had gotten a manicure, or a pedicure, had to shave her legs, or had to shave her arms, just for a photo-shoot. But in the end, isn't it all worth it? The money, the fame, the fortune. She has it all.
Out of all her features, her curves are the most prominent, the one that sticks out, the one feature that goes above-and-beyond true beauty. Kels' body has taken an hourglass shape, with a thin waist, and it's not like she's anorexic, she just doesn't eat as much as others - doesn't need to eat as much as others - and she has a good metabolism. Her stomach is flat - another beautiful trait - and doesn't have abs, which seems like a more masculine thing to Kelsey, though she believes she can get them if she tries. But, the 'upper-part' of her chest is not full, though not ginormous. Her butt is pretty bony. Her body is thin, long, lean, something most models need to go far.

When looking at her, Kelsey's hair is one of the first things you would notice. Even from a distance, you could tell it's full, shiny, and soft. Closer up, you could tell it's a very dark brown, or that it turns honey-blond in the light, or that it normally smells of flowers. It's a bit wavy, but it's easy to straighten most of the time. It's a lighter shade than her eyes, which look very evil yet very innocent at the same time. They seem to twinkle in a devious way when able to get caught by light - another way her eyes seemed to be two-faced. Shaped in long, thin squints, her eye-sight isn't horrible, though not the best. To bring out the color in her eyes, she might wear a light-colored eyeshadow. The long, thing eyelashes attached the end of he eyelids are very visible, very easy to see. Of course, for the fashion model, mascara is a necessity. Kelsey's eyebrows are constantly getting waxed, trimmed, and shaped to perfection. It shows, and the dark brown color is hard to miss.

Kels' lips are usually coated in some bold shade of pink that contrasts against her sightly darker skin. They're wide, thick, and full - something very pretty to Kelsey, and she's proud. Sadly, these lips are yet to share their first kiss. Her teeth are masked behind her lips, almost never exposed to the light. Why? They're ugly, all yellow and chipped and horrid. When younger, Kelsey rarely brushed her teeth, which she does now, though it doesn't heal the damage a lot, but it gets her somewhere. There's really no way to fix that now, even if she's only eighteen.

Her nose is very small, like a mouse's, except it isn't the same shade. Kelsey's nose would have acne, but she uses skin care regimen to clear it up. Anyways, Kelsey's nose is pointy and long, very thin, and sticks out on her face, even if it is small. Her ears are large, the complete opposite of her nose. Her ears have three piercings each - each of them have the average 'first' and 'second' piercings, but the left one is pierced mid-way and the other one has it's cartilage pierced. Though not important to her in a major way, she's glad to be able to hear from the monstrous things.
Her head is shaped like a heart, and is ranging towards the small side. The chin at the bottom of her face is smooth. Her shoulders are broad, giver her a more masculine posture, but only at that aspect. Her neck is probably a bit shorter than others, but at least it isn't all fat, and her collar-bone isn't prominent. Her skin is a bit darker than average, and she's almost certain her family comes from a hispanic heritage.

Some people would call her beautiful, ask her how she does it. She will simply say something about eating right. That's one of Kelsey's things, she will only lose weight naturally, and would never go anorexic just to be a better model. When people would say that she looks like her mom, she would thank them, for her mom is very pretty, which is probably where she gets her looks. Her dad, well, she doesn't really remember what her dad looks like. Still, to be polite, she will say a subtle "Thanks," or a playful "I try."
And she will never, under any circumstances, think of herself as ugly, or focus on her negative traits.

Kelsey is a living patchwork. The pieces of cloth are what makes her herself. Not one of the pieces of cloth are a lie, they all show Kelsey's true colors. The finished quilt is her, but it is my job to tell you about how she is put together. Obviously, some of the quilt's pieces will be ugly, tarnished, or almost worn-away, like normal.
