Hazel Davis, District Nine

Hazel is outgoing and enthusiastic, always wanting to get something done. She's a risk-taker, and considers rules as guidelines more than laws. While she's always willing to try a new idea, she can never wait long enough to listen to/care about the details.

Hazel is fast-moving and fast talking, and doesn't like to sit around to "think things out". She prefers to improvise along the way, and face the consequences if she chooses wrong. She loves to tell stories (especially to her younger siblings), and has a flair for drama.

Hazel also has an uncanny ability to perceive people's attitudes and/or emotions. She can pick up on little things like facial expressions, and interpret them. However, sometimes her bold words and strong ideas can be hurtful, and she wont notice. If she's caught up in something, she can unintentionally hurt people, and never notice.

Though Hazel is sometimes unknowingly harsh, she has an extremely strong sense of family and always takes after her siblings. She knows them so well that she can pick up on what they're thinking, and make them feel better, no matter what. She would never hurt them, and would never hesitate to hurt anyone that made them sad/angry/upset in anyway.

Hazel is a middle child in a family of eight. Her mother left when she was nine, and she has almost no memory of her leaving or why. Only her older brother and her father remember it, and neither of them will talk. She does remember her mother though. She had creamy white skin, and dark brown hair that barely reached past the ends of her ears.

She does have a stepmother, and half of her siblings are step-sisters/brothers, but she loves them all anyway. Most of her family is perfectly content with their mother replacement, but Hazel hates her. And she hates Hazel right back. Truthfully, Hazel is more of a mother to the young ones than her stepmother is, but she doesn't mind most of the time. She mostly hates her stepmother for stealing her father away.

After Hazel's mother left, her father was silent. He said next to nothing, did next to nothing, and helped his family next to never. Hazel's older brother took care of Hazel, and Hazel took care of the kids. That was how it worked for three years.
Until her father met Sabrina (her stepmother), a beautiful woman six years younger than him. He was smitten, and they started dating. Now they're married, and Sabrina never does anything but flirt with Hazel's father and take up room.
