Never Really Forgot // K E N D A L L \\

My hope shattered when I heard his steady voice again. For some reason it sparked something within me that was part joy, and part despair. I had no choice but to turn around and reply. I rolled my eyes as I turned and just looked at him. "You would like to know wouldn't you?" I said sharply and sarcastically. I started to inch my way forward slowly.

"If you have to know, I'm with someone else, some one who actually has time for me unlike you." I said bragging. Although, I knew he would snap back to me with some smart ass comment because I knew he had another girl now too. I just waited for his reply. I waited for his deep voice to fill my ears again unlike it had for the past few months. He was probably going to try to argue the reason for our separation also. I couldn't wait to make my point to him! As I looked at him, memories flashes through my wad head of him and I together. On the beach fooling around, swimming, having dinner. It struck me more than I had liked it too. It bothered me because, just because I shouldn't care.

I sighed and walked up to him at his come back. He irritated me, a lot. He gave me a quiet smirk that said it all. He Wanted to win this, but I wouldn't let him. "What have I been doing eh? Swimming, I mean the usual, hanging out." I said casually and slyly. Then he brought up my boy friend. He asked where he was, and if that was what I wanted, him with me. I got pissed. I swear my face turned red from anger. "You listen to me Cade. Don't you medal in my life ok? I mean, where is your girlfriend? How would you feel me asking you that?" I said completely heated up. I couldn't help but look him straight in the eye with a hint of flame in them to show thr I wasn't going to take any of his shit. "You have no business in my life anymore, I mean, he gave up his dream to be with me, like you would have ever done that."

I really wanted to scream at that point. I was full out rage. Angry, pissed, red, smoke coming out of my ears. But I also noticed that Cade was getting pissed too. It wasn't his calm voice rather than the voice I heard the last time I talked to him, angry and damn frustrated. "It was different, you were never with me. You always wanted to be with your friends, I never saw you. I wanted to see
You, I, I," I said hesitating at the last word. I looked away down at the sand. My stomach immediate dropped. I couldn't bare to come to say the word. "Nevermind." I said a bit sad but more calmed still a look of pity in my eyes. I had sone one else now, and i loved him more. If that was the case then what was this shameful feeling i got? Was i sorry for him or for myself? I was so confused in what. I felt. My face started to heat up from embarrassment but luckily a cool breeze swept through blowing my beachy blonde hair over my blushing cheeks. I wanted to slap myself out of it. What the hell was I thinking?I didn't love him!

I looked back up at him, he anted to hear my thoughts. I didn't know why though. He seemed to calm down considerably. I just shook my head. "It doesn't matter anymore now does it?" I said looking into his eyes sadly. We weren't even together anymore. Why would I tell him? I stepped back a bit to get some space. This confrontation should have never happened. i should have just ignored him and just kept on swimming. i should have never stopped and answered his question. This conversation practically brought me to tears, I held them back though. "I used to love you, like I said though. You were never around." I said sharply. I stepped back more and just looked at him with arms crossed in anger, the salty breeze blowing on my wet body. He such a sight to see, all tall and thinking he was smart. I smirked to myself letting out a small laugh thinking that I was ever engaged in a relationship with this man. in some way it sickened me, but also touched me warmly. Was it right to give him up? Should I have given him a second chance?

"You're a piece of work you know that Alex?" was all he said. that made me laugh a bit, becasue I knew I was. I scoffed and looked at him. "You better believe it." I said teasingly blowing a piece of hair out of my face. I looked at him once more and thought to myself silently and secretly.

I really did not want to fight anymore. Why couldn't we just be friends? Honestly. This silly argument was getting us no where. Just dragging us deeper and deeper into dangerous caves of anger. I walked back to him looked at him seriously. "Can we start over? I don't want to fight with you anymore. I always wanted to still be friends since we split." Those words came from the hart. i meant every single one. I then held out my hand in a welcoming gesture. "Hello, I'm Alexandria, and you are?" I said putting on a smile and adding some charm to it for him. I waited for his answer. To be honest, i was a little worried weather he was going to answer back or not. Was he going to reject a friendship? Was I too much for him? Did he hate me. So many questions cycled through my head confusingly.

I was relieved when he shook my hand. He had looked a little confused fr a moment before though. I know it as because I was acting all bi-polar on him, which I'm not of course. i just couldn't help he fact that he had meant something to me at one time, and i couldn't bear losing it. yes, I had moved on, hopefully he had too because he had another girl, but for some reason, i could not stay mad at him. i t was not possible in my nature.

"Pleasure. I am Cade. I have seen you around before - do I know you from anywhere?" he said amusingly. I cracked a smile and said, "I think we know more of each other than we think." i teased. I tried to change the subject before things got to awkward and said, "So, umm, how is Hazel? She cool with you?" I said very casually to him as I released my grip on his hand and let it fall to my side.

The moment was so nice. it reminded me of all the late night chats we had together, laughing and just having fun. I shook the images out of my head though, I couldn't let my mind be carried to far away. Those memories just lead to bad ones and this was not the time to get upset again. We were friends now. Plain and simple, enough for me to live with.
