Gwen Thomas, District 2

Gwen is an average height for a 13 year old. She is 5"1 and slim, yet toned. She has dark brown eyes and long golden hair which she has to tie back whenever she performs or it gets on her nerves. Her skin is pale and unblemished, with a fair complexion that mirrors her twin's, Gaia, completely.

Despite being only 13, Gwen is quite strong for her age. She performs in the circus with her twin as a trapeze act, so naturally she has a few good muscles on her. She's not macho (she would hate it if she was), but she's got enough strength to hold her own against an opponent, especially if they underestimated her.

Gwen is the brains of the family and perfection is her key to everything. She is careful and hardworking, especially when it comes to learning a new routine or solving a problem. If anyone has an issue that needs thinking out, Gwen is the one to do it.

Gwen's main 2 strengths are evasiveness and her geographical knowledge. She knows all the routes to get around, even when the roads become maze-like in the backstreets of the district. If you need to get somewhere fast, or unseen, Gwen is the one to get you there.

She is also very agile and flexible, which are some of the benefits that have come from her trapeze act. She is quick and hard to catch, but she is also quite strong and should never be underestimated.

However, Gwen is very insecure despite how she acts. She didn't really know her mom as much as her older sisters but that doesn't stop her missing her. She tries to reassure herself by reassuring her sisters, but if she's made to doubt herself long enough, she'll soon start to believe it.

Gwen was born in district 2 but, despite being the most favoured district, she didn't exactly have the happiest childhood. Her mom mysteriously disappeared seven years after their youngest sister, Flora, was born. This made a big impact on Gwen, who had only just been growing closer to her mom. A few years ago, her dad qualified to be a peacekeeper and he moved away to another district, leaving Gwen's eldest sister (Bluebell) to look after them.

Shortly after their dad left, they knew they would have to do something to earn money, so they decided to open up a circus. They named it The Circus of Tightropes and Lions, and it was decided that Gwen would perform a trapeze act along with her twin, Gaia. Her other sisters (Bluebell, Isolde, Esther, Cerise, Lucia, and Flora) also have acts of their own.

Most of her sisters believe that their mom has died, or was kidnapped, which is why she still hasn't returned. Gwen can't afford to think like this, however. She convinces herself daily that their mom is out there somewhere, watching their every move, and it comforts her to think this. Esther is the only one to share this belief.
