Emmanuelle Chaser - District 11 {ND}

Em is nearly 5'11 and thin. She has light skin, despite all the work she does outside, because after her skin burns it returns to its original color. She does, however, have a plenty of freckles to make up for it. They shimmy across her face, up and down her legs, and cover her arms and shoulders. Her hair is her most noticeable feature. It is long, red, and very textured and kinky. It hardly ever looks properly brushed, but she refuses to cut it any shorter, because then it sticks out and makes her look ridiculous. Her eyes are large and dark blue with a hint of green. They are, unfortunately, rather easy to read. Her lips are wide and plump and baby pink.

Emma is and has always been thin. Even in prosperous years she has never had much meat on her bones, and often looks a bit waifish with her size and her paleness. It should be noted that she does have muscles and is not as weak as she appears. She has built up strength from manual labor and is surprisingly sturdy. Her feet are rather small for her height, but in contrast, her hands are large. They are not very wide, but they are thin and long. The knuckles on her hands are very prominent and give her hands the look of an alien's.

Emmanuelle is a positive, happy-go-lucky personality always looking on the bright side. She is never outwardly negative or cynical and almost always has a smile on her lips. She can get annoyed with people, but only if they refuse to see the glass half full the way she appears to. Em figures that, for the sake of those around you, you should never be very negative. Often times her overly happy outlook on things annoys other people, but it can also be comforting to be around someone that lets you forget your troubles for a bit.

Inside, Emma is much darker. She does not trust people or reveal things about herself unless she has known someone for a very long time. In her head she often over analyzes and obsesses with little things, and loses herself in depression if she is alone. The only way anyone would be able to tell this about her is that her eyes usually match what she is truly feeling, not what she chooses to behave like.

Em is quick thinking and generally more intelligent than people give her credit for. Sometimes she's a bit too calculative, and fails to think about the emotion appeals and consequences of her actions. She is a determined worker, always willing to put in a fair share of effort for "the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few." Emma is generally self-less and always willing to help someone else instead of herself.

Emmanuelle Eve Chaser was born in the fall, the third child of Berkley and Heather Chaser. She has an older brother and an older sister, twins, who are five years older than her. Her brother, Carter, was always her role model, and she annoyed him to no end as a child, trying to follow him to work and when he hung out with his friends. Her sister, Jade, was often left to take care of her, and the two had a very close bond. Many people thought Jade and Emmanuelle acted like the twins in the family because they could finish each others thoughts and always knew what the other was thinking. The family worked with grain, and whenever there was extra they would bake loaf upon loaf of bread. To this day, Emm's happiest memories are of baking bread with her family. Everyone was always in a good mood because the harvest had just come in, and perhaps this year they would have enough to keep from starving, and it smelled so good, and they were all together for a time.

At the age of eleven she began going to the field with her family. Another family worked the field nest to theirs, and Em often worked alongside a girl her age named Kaya. They grew to be fast friends over the years, hanging out in the field if they ever had a spare moment. When she was fifteen, Emmanuelle realized she had feelings for Kaya. She didn't know what to do, so she confessed to her sister. Jade told their mother, who did not approve of her daughter's feelings. To keep the girls apart Em was sent to town where she works as a general
