Anthem - Day 6

The rumbling begins soon after sundown, in th greys and shadows of the night. Something stirs beneath the lowest layer of the arena, gnashes its teeth and growls low in its throat. High in the sky, the anthem begins to beat its rhythm.

The melody finishes, and the seal is replaced by the faces of the dead:

You count on your fingers to tally up the dead, and the subtraction is simple enough that even your tired brain realizes that there are only eight tributes left in the arena including yourself. Seven more have to die if you're to make it home.

The music stops and the projection fades, throwing the Arena into tepid darkness once more. There are noises throughout the night, groans beneath the earth. A rumbling shakes the ground as the sun rises, a coppery orange just this side of fresh blood.
