Day 7 Anthem

As the night arrives, so does depression and anxiety. The end is nearing and you know it. The sky has already fallen, and you are sure something wicked must be around the corner. Thick, muggy air presses down on you. That's not of your concern, though, for you know that soon the faces of the dead will be displayed above. Then, the music rings out in the Arena, and you bring yourself to look up through the dismal atmosphere.

The melody finishes, and the seal is replaced by the faces of the dead:


No faces appear and you know the Gamemakers won't stand for that. You count on your fingers to tally up the dead, and the subtraction is simple enough that even your tired brain realizes that there are only eight tributes left in the arena including yourself. Seven more have to die if you're to make it home.

The music stops and the projection fades, throwing the Arena into darkness once more.
