Anthem — Day 9

When night arrives, coolness is expected along with it; this is not the case anymore. Heat begins to surround the remaining Tributes. Winds blow with more vigor than ever in the Arena and the sulfur is blown around quickly along with it. The Arena has become wholly unpleasant and a painful place to reside. Good thing you don't have much longer left. The Anthem begins and you look up, sweat dripping from your forehead.

The melody finishes, and the seal is replaced by the faces of the dead:

Naveen Casovnik, District Six
Bran Wolfe, District Eight

You count on your fingers to tally up the dead, and the subtraction is simple enough that even your tired brain realizes that there are only five tributes left in the arena including yourself. Four more have to die if you're to make it home.

The music stops and the projection fades, throwing the Arena into darkness once more.
