Miana is a twelve-year-old girl with blonde hair that's just past her shoulders. She's rather small for her age, looking more like a ten-year-old at four feet and eight inches, and about sixty-five pounds soaking wet. She has wide blue eyes and small features, looking a bit like a lifesized doll. She's slightly tanned from working to help plant and harvest, and she has a thin scar from her wrist to just below her elbow, from falling and landing on a branch while running around in the orchards one day when she was five.

Personality:

Miana's a rather shy, quiet girl who keeps to herself until she knows someone, and even then she doesn't talk much for fear of annoying them. She doesn't have much of a sense of humour, not understanding jokes, and she's very afraid of being entirely alone, especially at night.

History:

Miana is the only child of Randa and Clary Cashore, though she had a twin brother who died only days after their birth. She spent her childhood tagging along after her parents in the fields and orchards as soon as she could walk. She had few friends, always preferring to make up friends and games out of her imagination, though she grew closer to some of the others when she was older, though still not close enough to consider them good friends.
