Avoxes moved quietly throughout the house preparing the Mansion for the party that would be held later. I have always had a little sympathy for them but because I know they broke the law I do not have too much sympathy for them, I respect how well they do their work and I have never been disappointed. One of the avoxes stopped in front of me as I made my way toward the pool area, she held a platter of tarts that would be served, I took one from the platter and put it in my mouth, it was perfect. I smiled and nodded at her, I noticed a slight blush on her pale cheeks but ignored it, I knew which way the wind blew and it was forbidden to speak to the servants.
I have had been quite busy over the course of the past two weeks since the ending of the 61st Hunger Games. The CNC has been in chaos trying to organize interviews and coverage of the 61st Victory Tour and the rapidly approaching 62nd Annual Hunger Games. I walked out to the pool; Avoxes were even out here preparing decorations, gold and red everywhere, representing the colors and the might of the Capitol. There was a hologram projector that pointed towards the sky. Throughout the evening it would play recaps of the 61st Hunger Games, The Reaping Film, and the image of the Capitol's seal to the national anthem.
These parties were nothing new to me nearly every week I was either attending or hosting and enjoy them immensely. I guess there is a reason I party so much, I am always hoping to meet the love of my life my mind is an open one and I have no problem enjoying the romantic company of both men and women. I do not prefer one to the other. Even though I have not come across 'the one' I still have and make many friends. I expected many to attend tonight. After surveying the decorations I retired to my bedroom inside it was quite close to 7:00, almost time for people to begin arriving. I put on my favorite gray vest and slacks and run a hand through my messy hair, I smiled at myself. I knew I looked good I was proud of myself and had every right to be after all I had been through in the past. I often thought of what my mother would think of me, I wondered if she would be proud of how successful I had become. I also wondered what my sorry excuse for a father thought, though I tried to keep him from my mind.
I returned to the entrance room of the mansion the avoxes had apparently went into the kitchen, to wait for the guests and to serve them at the right time. Just as I approached the front door, the bell rang. I opened the door and was met with handshake after handshake as guests all at once poured in.
