Koda Arcee | District 11

Despite being only 14 years old, Koda has grown quite a bit for his age that does make him look slightly older, mainly from all the work he has been doing his whole life in the farmers fields. He has hazel green eyes, tanned skin from his work under the hot sun and sandy blond hair that seems to be always scruffy and unable to tame. He's tall for his age, has broad shoulders and athletic build and strong arms.

Koda is an unassuming boy that you wouldn't expect anything from. He's quiet and shy but he isn't a slacker. He's a hard worker and would do anything for his family, working hours in the fields of the farmers to make money for his poor family. Koda doesn't have time for normal pleasures like other children and has been forced into maturity by the realities around him. If one could get to know him, they wound find him to be a nice and caring boy with lots of devotion. He's also stubborn when he is set on a goal which can make him seem abrasive and mean at times. His fierce determination is a result of his rocky relationship with his father who never thought of him as 'worthy'.

Koda's father was the former representative of Distrct 11 to the Capitol and never thought much of the poor sector within Panem. However he did become involved with a local woman though there was no actual 'love' between them. When Koda's mother became pregnant with Koda, his father broke off their relationship, instead choosing his life back in the Capitol. Koda grew up as a single child with his mother in a run down shack in the poorest part of the district. She was weak and sick from the poor conditions and has never been able to properly care for Koda, who was forced to start working in the crop fields at the age of 10. He's never attended school properly because it's up to him to provide for him and his mother, which has forced him into an early adulthood. His father still regularly visits him (not his mother) because of some misplaced 'honor' the man has, though Koda wishes he'd just never come back. Not that his father is willing to take them as his family or even assist them.
